A lot of CLI and TUI useful tools. I found his videos on w3m particularly interesting.

some mail clients, like thunderbird, can also handle rss feed, you then have an all-in-one solution.

    pkgsrc

Almost every NetBSD user knows about [pkgsrc](http://www.pkgsrc.org/), the equivalent of FreeBSD port system. You can use it on NetBSD of course, but also on other Unix-like OS like *BSD or Linux. Besides that, there is also [pkgsrc/wip](http://www.pkgsrc.org/wip/), where new maintainers can practise their skills. It may be worth taking a look there, whether you want to contribute or to find a package not present in the main pkgsrc tree. You also have [pkgin](https://pkgin.net/), equivalent to FreeBSD's pkg. Finally, [Joyent](http://pkgsrc.joyent.com/) proposes prebuilt packages for a variety of platforms.

For instagram, maybe look if there are pixelfed apps.

For whatsapp, I think the matrix protocol is similar, the official app is element.

    Good!

I heard about wifibox before, sounds great.

For your notes, you can also use a modular approach, like :

    • a real text editor to type markdown/orgmode
    • a syncer to sync your devices
    • a converter to produce pdf or so if needed

Sure, it's a question of taste.

In the beginning of 2000's, read a linux mag, special edition dedicated to the bsd. I was on holiday, but 1st thing I did back home was to install a freebsd (desktopbsd in fact) on an old computer. It was already supporting cpu frequency management back in those days.

    Smooth experience so far

On huge lemmy instances, it's almost impossible to follow the federated timeline, in fact the only useful feed is the subscribed one, whereas here, it's a breeze to do so.
