So as a registered democrat constituent, should i call my republican congressman and tell him to support MTG’s motion in the hope that it wreaks increasing havoc on the Republican Party that leads to clowns like MTG ending up ousted? Or tell him to oppose MTG because congress working across party lines is the way it is supposed to work? 🤔
Marietta is doing a study on the Mountain to River (M2R) trail and seeks the community’s input. Saturday, 11/19/23, City staff will meet with interested citizens at Sessions Stand at 397 Sessions St. from 10am–1pm. The city also has an online survey for feedback: https://arcg.is/18101L0. I submitted feedback for the stretch along Atlanta St along Dobbins Air Base. That stretch sucks and is totally bleak.

Pop’s Coffee shop is part of the Triumph shop in Roswell, GA just north of Atlanta in the US. It’s pretty cool.

I don’t understand your comment. I have found SMART recovery to be free, running off of donations and volunteers. They also sell a few books at a reasonable cost. The only money I have ever spent is donating a few dollars after attending some Family & Friends meetings, and I bought the workbook for something like less than $20.

Another secular alternative is SMART recovery. They have group meetings in-person and online as well as a Family & Friends program. https://www.smartrecovery.org/

We stopped by for lunch and stretch our legs for a bit on our way up to Ellijay
Some interesting moto films for this upcoming film fest in the US. The films in this link were intended for public vote, but it seems the voting deadline has passed. I got this link from an email from Triumph

I picked up a book on the visual history of cars and page one starts off by describing how old man Daimler installed his engine on a bike to demonstrate his internal combustion engine.

Here's Shadow's take on it, but he doesn’t mention the title’s reference to ozone. However I like this interpretation better from the comments section
The YouTube algorithm served this up for me yesterday and I’m thinking I could really use something like this here in the US. Any of you all riders out in the UK ever heard of mhmotorbike or participated? Seems like lately my big Zed is the only thing keeping me from totally losing it. Here’s their website, looks like a fairly new organization in the UK https://mhmotorbike.com/mhmotorbike/

Upcoming fall colors would be a good time to do it. The Iron Hill tail at Red Top is good for biking, pretty mellow gravel trail. And if you want to mountain bike, Allatoona Creek Park near the south end of the lake is defnly worth checking out

It’s just a man digging his motorcycle and his memories tied to it even if it doesn’t get any respect from anyone else. Just seems like a universal vibe regardless where you are in the world, at least resonated with me

I feel lucky i never felt the need to block anything other than one year in middle school I had our entire Wi-Fi router shut off around 11pm for a couple of hours. That only lasted a couple of months.
If anything I’m relieved that don’t have to deal with the whole Parent Account with Child sub accounts. That whole set up is poorly implemented by Sony/PS in my experience… navigating the menus and accounts was torture over the years

Oops I forgot temporary.
I just found this tutorial and tried it and it works. I had to create two shortcuts, one for OFF and the other for ON
https://lifehacker.com/use-this-one-tap-shortcut-to-actually-turn-off-wifi-and-1849318943
/// Edit ///
There is a Toggle
option in the Set Bluetooth action which allows for a single shortcut instead of two distinct On/Off
bayport 1 year ago • 100%
I just turn mine off from the control center menu, swipe down from top right corner. It’s already so simple, why is a shortcut needed at all?

Good point, I should reword the question. I don’t see it as every transaction is exploitative. But there is some kind of spectrum and I’m trying to understand where do I draw that line/range that separates good from bad. I’m curious to hear other people’s opinions.
Here are definitions from Merriam-Webster online dictionary, but what is your take? Exploitation (noun): an act or instance of exploiting Exploit (verb): 1.) to make productive use of; 2.) to make use of meanly or unfairly for one's own advantage Monetization (verb): 1.) to coin into money; 2.) to purchase (public or private debt) and thereby free for other uses moneys that would have been devoted to debt service; 3.) to utilize (something of value) as a source of profit - Edit - revised title to “Is there a difference…” from “What is the difference…”

I just found out that my wife got some Narcan for my kid’s first aid kit and I was all like WTF? Turns out Naloxone is being recommended to everyone in the US as a just-in-case life saving med and is now available over the counter. It can even be gotten for free in many states (USA), which is apparently how she got it. Where you aware of this or already have some in your first aid kit? You find community based distribution info for your state (USA) with this website: https://nextdistro.org/naloxone

Yea totally. I watched him struggle for 15mins before asking him why he didn’t jack it up. He said it he didn’t want to waste time on that and so I watched for another 10mins before forcing him to do it

The dangerous part is that small and minor mistakes can have huge consequences, they are not proportional. But there are many ways to mitigate the risk and I think it all starts with attention to detail and all the other good suggestions made in this thread.
I have a Helite air jacket that I bought after being in an accident last year that I’m fairly confident would have prevented the injuries that landed me in the hospital if I would have had it at the time. I’m now in process of upgrading to a bike with ABS brakes

Not sure what version you are on but the latest v0.0.2(9) settings as an option to turn off haptics.
Also previously I found my Memmy settings for haptics =medium but wasn’t getting any haptics as I have haptics turned off in my iOS settings so you may want to check there too
Which of these two modern cafes would you choose? I’ve only been riding a little over a year and looking to upgrade from little 250cc. Any suggestions for what I should consider when comparing between the Kawasaki Z900RS Cafe and the Ducati Scrambler 800 Cafe? Both have comparable miles.
Kinda embarrassed to ask but are there lower cost streaming alternatives to AppleTV+SeasonPass to watch matches at home?
We’re about to enter another Reddit mass migration phase starting tonight. We’ve already attracted the users most actively engaged with the protests and Reddit’s changes—users who are driven enough to put in the effort to grow the Fediverse. Now we need to make it feel like home to casual users and lurkers. Not just attract them for a few visits, but keep it interesting enough that they stay here in the coming weeks/months. Major kudos to all the developers working day and night to bring us familiar-feeling apps and interfaces on insanely short timelines. But what can the rest of us do to make Kbin and Lemmy feel like home to all the new Reddit refugees? Populate Lemmy and Kbin with as much quality content as you can find! Over the next few weeks, fill your magazines/communities with as much good the content as you can. Post comments and subscribe to things. Click that upvote button on content or comments you like. Not sure where to find good content? Ironically, check out your favorite subreddits for ideas. Make sure we have the best of the content you can find on Reddit. See a good article or link? Post it here! Don’t be shy about posting to interactive communities like Ask Lemmy- we’re after volume. For OC Reddit posts, see if there’s a non-Reddit page to post here. I don’t know whether it’s acceptable to copy text posts, but if you do, make sure you at least give credit/copy a link to the original post. Basically, do everything you can to engage over the next few weeks and avoid lurking. Show off the Fediverse and welcome the next group of Reddit refugees to their new home.
