So like Rimworld with Francis John - Anomoly - S01E01 - H265 - An Unlikely group of researchers.mkv
?
I have some 1440p videos that I've downloaded off youtube but they use either the AV1 or VP9 codec. I'd like to watch these on my phone but it can't direct play those codecs and my iGPU can't transcode them so it has to be done in software extremely slowly. So I'd like to transcode the videos ahead of time into either h264 or h265 which my phone can direct play but I don't want to get rid of the originals. So can I have two copies of the same episode but using different codecs? How would I name them? Would jellyfin be smart enough to send the right video based on what my phone supports? The videos are currently named like so: ``` 'Rimworld with Francis John - Anomoly - S01E01 - An Unlikely group of researchers.mkv' 'Rimworld with Francis John - Anomoly - S01E02 - New weapons, new threats, new research.mkv' 'Rimworld with Francis John - Anomoly - S01E03 - Small colony equals few options.mkv' ```

I have a folder called "Let's Plays" with sub-folders like so:
- Among Us with Jeremy Dooley
- Factorio with Zisteau - Space Exploration
- Minecraft with GoodTimesWithScar - HermitCraft
- Rimworld with Mr Samuel Streamer - Mushroom Madness
In each of those folders I have folders for each "season" (for long-going series the seasons are by year (Season 2024) but are otherwise "season 1")
Then the videos/thumbnails themselves are like this:
untouchedwagons@storage:/mnt/tank/Media/Videos/Let's Plays/R/Rimworld with Mr Samuel Streamer - Mushroom Madness$ ls *
'Season 1':
'Rimworld with Mr Samuel Streamer - Mushroom Madness - S01E01 - The Mushroom Apocalypse.jpg'
'Rimworld with Mr Samuel Streamer - Mushroom Madness - S01E01 - The Mushroom Apocalypse.mp4'
'Rimworld with Mr Samuel Streamer - Mushroom Madness - S01E02 - Taking Back the City.jpg'
'Rimworld with Mr Samuel Streamer - Mushroom Madness - S01E02 - Taking Back the City.mp4'
'Rimworld with Mr Samuel Streamer - Mushroom Madness - S01E03 - How Far Would You Go_.jpg'
'Rimworld with Mr Samuel Streamer - Mushroom Madness - S01E03 - How Far Would You Go_.mp4'
'Rimworld with Mr Samuel Streamer - Mushroom Madness - S01E04 - Scientific Breakthrough.jpg'
'Rimworld with Mr Samuel Streamer - Mushroom Madness - S01E04 - Scientific Breakthrough.mp4'
In Jellyfin I have a library for these Let's Plays that are separate from my regular TV Shows.
I use JDownloader 2 to download youtube videos. I normally only download two to three videos a day so doing it all manually isn't that big of an ask, though editing metadata on mkv's is a bit of a pain.

Well I enabled debugging, restarted jellyfin and performed all three refresh operations and the episodes are still missing thumbnails. There was only one debugging item in the log about a broadcast socket
I download Let's Play series off of Youtube and sort them to watch through Jellyfin at a later time. I also download the thumbnails. On June 9 I upgraded the Jellyfin server from [10.9.1 to 10.9.6](https://github.com/UntouchedWagons/K3S-Cluster-Setup/commit/ebdb436896d283f9044d2920ded8c0c69ac3706a) and thumbnail importing broke somewhere inbetween those two versions. ![](https://lemmy.ca/pictrs/image/08bacb24-e71f-4c55-944e-779a1951126a.png) As you can see, episode 25 which I downloaded on June 7 has its thumbnail while episode 26 which was downloaded June 12 does not. This happens for all videos I've added. I've double checked that the images are not corrupt and that the file names match. [Edit] I rolled back to 10.9.1, did a refresh and all the missing thumbnails were picked up immediately

I was disappointed that he didn't pull a heel-face turn in 3 because of all the abuse he received. I'd have him try and leech all of his sister's power to kill her even if it ended up killing him as well due to power overload. The leeching wouldn't kill her but it'd be enough for the vault hunters to have a chance to finish her off.

The main mod for this colony was Vanilla Factions Expanded Empire which greatly improves the Empire. I think I got my main pawn to Archcount. One of my design goals was no rectangular rooms which I think I achieved. The rooms in the bottom left were intended to be guest rooms for royals so they'd be fairly copy and paste aside from colour scheme.
This is my one main complaint about Fedora Linux.
When the video is nearly finished this little box pops up prompting you about what video is going to play next, could we get a button to mark the current video as a favourite?
I bought a Roku Stick the other day to take with me on trips so I can watch my videos in the hotel room. I hooked it up and installed the jellyfin app and started watching a TV show. After about a minute playback stopped and I was returned to the home screen of the Jellyfin app but the only thing that was listed were my libraries. I exited and re-entered the jellyfin app and started watching the same episode. The same thing happened. Jellyfin logs: https://pastebin.com/eCPp3Tiu Transcode logs: https://pastebin.com/9uAVePbW I only tried the one video, I'll try some others and see what happens. [Edit] I tried a couple of other videos and they seem to be fine, must be something particular with that one video
I'm thinking of getting a roku streaming stick for travelling
I followed these [instructions](https://jellyfin.org/docs/general/installation/linux/#fedora) but they just install the server side of jellyfin which I don't need. I tried the flatpack option but the software GUI that Fedora KDE comes with seems to have no idea what to do with the flatpakref file
I've only got a couple of categories, one for sonarr, prowlarr (for some reason), and Games. They each have their save path set and thus I would expect any torrent added under the Games category would be saved in the path set for that category. But they're not, they're dumped in the default save path making that folder a hot mess. What's the deal? Why are categories so terrible?
I'd like to be somewhat vague because my job is somewhat niche. For my job I made custom products that are made up of subcomponents that cost me either by the foot, by the pair, or individually. So a particular product may include 5 feet of X, Y and Z, a pair of V and 1 of T and U. Then I add a bit for profit. Right now I have a somewhat simple spreadsheet that has all my components and their costs listed which are then referenced on other sheets. The problem is adding or removing components is a real pain in the ass because I'd have to edit each and every sheet. I'd like a better system where I can create a new product then from a drop down or something pick all the relevant components and enter how many of that component I need. Then create a quote that I can email to a client that lists the final cost of a bunch of products. I'd prefer this to be a, open source web app but it can be a desktop application.

Someone linked a site that lets you search all the Lemmy communities but I lost the link. IIRC it presented all the communities in a tile based layout.
On reddit if I wanted to refer to a subreddit I'd type /r/oneOrangeBraincell/ and that would get turned into a link. What's the lemmy equivalent?
Years ago I tried modding Fallout New Vegas and I think 4 on Fedora ages (I was running Fedora 28 at the time) ago using Mod Organizer 2 and it wouldn't work for reasons I didn't understand, possibly file system related. I'm thinking of switching to Pop! OS full time but I'd still like to play either modded Skyrim or FO4 from time to time, preferably using MO2.
I go to a random post, read some comments, collapse them then upvotes another comment. All the comments I collapsed are uncollapsed! Why?! What is the point of that?! Is that something I can turn off?
A couple of days ago I asked about using my xbox one controller with my steam deck. I did get it working via bluetooth but I'd prefer something I could plug into my dock. I have an old xbox 360 controller that still works but the PC receiver I had no longer works. If I get a replacement 360 receiver (or maybe a different receiver for an xbox one controller) will that work out of the box on my steam deck? I know there's a project for the xbox one receiver I've got but due to the way SteamOS is set up I'd need to reinstall those drivers whenever there's an update which I don't really want to bother with.
This is the receiver I have: https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B00ZB7W4QU/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 And this is the controller I have: https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B08DF26MXW/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 If I try to connect the controller using bluetooth my deck can see the controller but can't establish a connection. Is there an addon I can install so that I can use the usb receiver I currently have?
The title is indeed terrible but I have no idea what to put. I am working on a Bill of Materials app and I'm starting out with the database layout and the REST API to interact with the database. I currently have four tables but the query I want to write involves three of them CREATE TABLE `components` ( `id` int(11) unsigned NOT NULL AUTO_INCREMENT, `name` varchar(64) NOT NULL, `description` text DEFAULT NULL, `price` float unsigned NOT NULL, PRIMARY KEY (`id`), UNIQUE KEY `name_UNIQUE` (`name`) ) ENGINE=InnoDB AUTO_INCREMENT=12 DEFAULT CHARSET=utf8mb4 COLLATE=utf8mb4_general_ci; CREATE TABLE `products` ( `id` int(11) unsigned NOT NULL AUTO_INCREMENT, `name` varchar(64) NOT NULL, `description` text DEFAULT NULL, `tax_code` varchar(8) NOT NULL, PRIMARY KEY (`id`), UNIQUE KEY `name_UNIQUE` (`name`), KEY `name_idx` (`tax_code`), CONSTRAINT `name` FOREIGN KEY (`tax_code`) REFERENCES `tax_codes` (`name`) ) ENGINE=InnoDB AUTO_INCREMENT=2 DEFAULT CHARSET=utf8mb4 COLLATE=utf8mb4_general_ci; CREATE TABLE `product_components` ( `product_id` int(10) unsigned NOT NULL, `component_id` int(10) unsigned NOT NULL, `count` int(10) unsigned NOT NULL, PRIMARY KEY (`product_id`,`component_id`), KEY `fk_component_id_idx` (`component_id`), CONSTRAINT `fk_component_id` FOREIGN KEY (`component_id`) REFERENCES `components` (`id`), CONSTRAINT `fk_product_id` FOREIGN KEY (`product_id`) REFERENCES `products` (`id`) ) ENGINE=InnoDB DEFAULT CHARSET=utf8mb4 COLLATE=utf8mb4_general_ci; Now what I want to do is list all the products and for each product calculate the cost of all the components that product needs. So if a product needs 4 doodads that cost $1 and 7 whatzits that cost $2 the cost of the product would be $18 (4*1 + 7*2). I know I'd need some JOINs but I have no idea what I'd need.
I'm going on a trip tomorrow and want to be able to access jellyfin remotely but port forwarding JF isn't an option. I already have Wireguard set up on my pfsense router and my phone can VPN in just fine. I used to have a tablet so I reused its config for my steam deck. I SSH'd the config file over, imported in Network Manager. But when I activate the Wireguard VPN nearly the entire UI stops responding. The power button works and I can bring up the on-screen keyboard but that's it. My only option is to hold down the power button to force the deck to shut down. Anyone have any ideas what's going on?
I'm looking for communities to subscribe to so I went to the Communities page then selected All but I can't sort the listed communities. My cursor changes to a finger when I hover over the Subscribers column but nothing happens when I click on it or any of the other columns..
