If you've been using Windows for decades, Linux is absolutely not easier to use. Troubleshooting Windows for me is super easy and nowadays I hardly have to troubleshoot at all. It kinda just works™. Troubleshooting Linux as a noob is absolutely atrocious and I've always run into a problem with Linux within the first couple of weeks.

That said, I wish I grew up using Linux, so it'd be second nature to me. I really would like to ditch Windows. Problem is, I'm already burnt out from my job, I really don't have the energy to make the switch yet.

People that really want convenience just pay for streaming services.

Streaming services stopped being convenient a couple of years ago. Introduction of ads, content strewn all over the place, shitty UI, etc.

I went with Stremio because it has everything in one place. Seeding is not an option because Germany is a shit country for seeding Torrents.

Real Debrid does the torrenting while the end user downloads the cached content. I'm not sure if they seed or not however.

You're absolutely right! In Germany this type of behavior is even propagated by conservative parties. They're blaming the green party for acting on ideology. This is "emotion" paraphrased. It doesn't come as a surprise to me that simpletons adopt this narrative. Right wing propaganda essentially works by triggering emotions.

Mate, you ever stop to think that maybe you are the one falling for right wing propaganda? No one here is saying that it's time for full EV. That'd never work. No one is being forced either. It's a transition. ICEs will be here for decades to come. It'd be nice to have less of them however. Plus EVs can be a puzzle piece in solving energy storage, so full renewables becomes feasible.

You're blatantly ignoring scientific data and logic and are just parroting boulevard magazine level bullshit. Seek help, you're definitely on the side of ignorant people who are afraid of change.

What does that have to do with your initial comment? And have you ever heard of photovoltaics? The fuck does that have to do with emotion?

I myself still drive an ICE, because I don't want to afford an EV yet (they're extremely expensive in Germany). An EV would be ideal for me however. I produce a shitload of energy with the PV on my roof. In the last 30 years I've lived here, we had exactly one power outage that was fixed within an hour. We brutally overproduce wind and solar power, EVs can actually help store that surplus energy (think vehicle to grid).

Maybe you should inform yourself before you make a fool of yourself.

Unless that was sarcasm again, because that was just such a dumb comment. Jesus.

You get that idea because no one actually browses the internet anymore. All people ever do is use fucking social Media and that's about it. No one's using Limewire to download porn/music, no one's using warez websites anymore, there are trustworthy porn aggregators so no one needs to visit dubious websites anymore.

Viruses are still a thing, and as someone already mentioned, chrome and edge themselves are spyware. Phishing is the more prodominant modus operandi nowadays.

Thanks for the well explained answer, I appreciate the tone of your post :)

I'm fairly shit at art myself but have made respect for people who have a mental picture and can transfer that into whatever medium they're using. AI art is easy to detect at this point and it just doesn't do it for me.

The thing with shitty answers is that the answers that come after a prompt sound feasible but very often it's absolute nonsense and plan unusable.

I appreciate the technology behind AI and it's fairly impressive where we're at now. But it has a very long way to go before it really becomes a benefit to humanity.

See, you're the ignorant type. Tech bro has been an insult for a long time now. Deal with it. The bullshit you write here has strong tech bro vibes. Can't take you seriously. Also, everything you said is plain wrong.

I'm doing pretty well as an engineer. I've tried using AI in my job. It's utterly useless. Turns out that if you've learned something useful, it's not easily replaced.

But yeah, carry on flipping them burgers and dreaming of becoming the next Elon. Pro tip, you're not going anywhere with that bullshit sof yours.

Funny, most companies I know of are ditching AI because it's useless and a high security risk.

But you do you, tech bro.

Edit: even the examples you listed aren't exactly things one should entrust AI with. Contract creation? Nah, I'd rather buy templates from notaries/legal firms and be done with that. Would you trust a legally binding contract that came from an AI bot? Exactly, no one does. Marketing and Sales? Oh yeah, a shitty bot knows more about psychology than a human professional, sure mate. Keep that up and you can file for bankruptcy in no time. Translations, yes. That is one area that can help, but also leads to people either being too lazy to cross check or those people are out of jobs and you end up with half assed translations that paints your company in a very unprofessional color.

I'm not sure you're right. Many companies ditch AI because not only is it useless, it's downright dangerous because AI chat bots are very confident in their answers, even though they're wrong most of the time.

I was excited at first, but now it's a useless gimmick. And it fucks up journalism.

But I do wanna keep the AI denoiser in Lightroom though, that shit is amazing!

I'm sorry, I was referring to Germans that head down to Mallorca for a weekend to get shitfaced. It doesn't make sense that a train ride from Hamburg to Munich costs 5 times as much as a flight from Hamburg to Mallorca.

Inner European flights are also important, until we have a dedicated highspeed train network that connects all of Europe's larger cities with each other.

I'm absolutely for eliminating domestic flights within European countries. Let's get some good trains going instead. But traveling the skies is one of humanities greatest achievements and lets us explore other cultures in a way we otherwise never could. Let's not get rid of those. I don't want to be trapped here. Ban 30€ flights from Germany to Mallorca? Absolutely! Ban flights from Germany to APAC, Africa or the Americas? Please don't.

I have a feeling it might have to do with the cheeseburger being trapped in an airtight environment. That way the water can't evaporate, it stays in the can and condenses right back onto the cheeseburger once opened.

Hmm, I might backpedal a bit with my comment. Though I believe it's near impossible to get the contents to a flashing point unless the water that is used is in a pressurized environment. Condensed milk is a liquid, meaning it is heated a lot faster than food. Liquids are subjected to convection when heated, meaning they heat up easily. I doubt a hamburger inside a can will ever reach 100 °C in boiling water.

Still, thanks for explaining your reasoning, I work in the beverage industry and know a fair deal about pasteurization, but that all happens somewhere between 60-80 °C and CO2 is the main culprit in terms and peaking cans. I wasn't thinking about water turning into gas, thus increasing internal pressure.

Canned food is literally pasteurized in said can, while submerged in water at temperatures slightly lower than 100 °C. The whole reason to put food in cans is to create an airtight atmosphere that can be thermally treated with hot water. This kills certain spores (mainly botulinum) which is why canned food has a very long shelf life.

It's still not correct to cook the food that way, but not because of the reason you made up.

In Deutschland geht wahnsinnig viel schief.

In this case it's pretty much the same risk as inhaling asbestos dust. Fun fact, in the past, beer was filtered through asbestos, which was perfectly safe because asbestos is only dangerous when inhaled. Nowadays it's filtered through Kieselgur because its properties are pretty much identical to those of asbestos.
