yea ray tracing is off. (can you even turn that on on the deck in this case? Not sure.)
settings are some custom medium settings.
but same issue with low or high. I tried various resolutions from stamp size to native deck... no changes.
I found someone on github who may have the same issue and a bit more knowledge than me. I've added a few logfiles there.
https://github.com/ValveSoftware/SteamOS/issues/1015#issuecomment-1620314298
And the screenshots of my settings ingame.
Hey deckers! I grabbed Elden ring in the summer sale, but it keeps freezing and crashing after some time. I found a few posts including Github - all of them are about 2 month old that seem to have similar behavior. I was wondering if anyone here has the same issue and maybe even a workaround & fix. I've tried a few things, but nothing worked so far. Elden Ring (and only Elden Ring) freezes after about 5-30 minutes of playtime. Had a longer session once - but only once. Tested steps: - Same behavior in Desktop-mode or Game-mode. - Same behavior when Limiting Wattage - Same behavior turning of the new fan curve - Same behavior when Easy Anti Cheat is disabled (launching elden ring.exe and creating steamID.txt) - Same behavior with multiple Proton versions (including GE) - Same behavior after deleting protonfiles - Same behavior after reinstalling the game - Same behavior after verifying files - Temperature of the device is normal OS 3.4.8, No Beta Hardware is about 6 month old, no other issues. Almost any game runs without issues.

I personnaly agree with you. If content is not supposed to be searchable, maybe don't post it online. It is a different problem for writers, artists and possibly even journalists.
But I think it's a fair debate - unfortuantely one that was one (or the only?) reason the whole reddit API debacle startetd.
On the other hand maybe Lemmy should allow certain communities allow an "only for members" view?

Nah. I’m good thanks. Maybe on a 90% sale.
But I’m not going to RE-buy what it should have been in the first place. And it’s not going to be.

I have not touched reddit since this debacle... I added a bunch of subreddits to my RSS reader, but I'm honestly not looking at it.
Unfortunately searching for information often brings me to a reddit post, but I'm trying to avoid it and so far found the information elsewhere.

evolution works ok, I just don't like the look and feel. There's a lot of customization possible ... but it's just not for me somehow. so far the thunderbird beta is quite nice.

Hey! I'm looking for a better mail experience. I love the look and feel of Geary, but it (still) doesn't have PGP. And from the looks it's not going to happen any time soon... I hate the look and feel of evolution and thunderbird (and the betterbird clone) ... I need PGP to work within the client (yes I can PGP crypt messages anywhere in the terminal etc...) but I need the integration. I consider betterbird my current only workaround, but I'm looking for alternatives. I'm really bad at coding so I can't participate in the Geary project as much as I would like to do it. I get your point and I agree to an extend. However I disagree with any kind of tracking or analysis of user data. I'd rather pay money for software - no subscription. I'm ok paying for updates or upgrades now and then.
I'm also happy to donate (and did) but I'm also mad and paranoid enough to doubt such button actually turns this feature off.
Screak42 1 year ago • 100%
True. Unfortunately I'm paranoid enough to have to create network captures until I believe it's actually off. And even then... I'm unable to prove it doesnt send off a package of data after a certain amount of time.
my firefox (iOS) enabled sponsored shortcuts and I hate it. Yes I can disable it - I still hate it.

I’d want to love it…
but as ridiculous as it sounds, for something like this to be really useful to me I unfortunately need a mobile app. a web-app seems hard to realize for a real e2e encryption & sync - for my scenario :(
I’m aware how much effort this is already… it looks good but as much as I want to use it, I can’t due to my workflow requiring a mobile device app (iOS in my case)
but it does look really promising!

Reddit will never be normal again after this. Someone else said it recently - It doesn't matter if only 5% (or less) of the user base leave because this 5% will most likely be the most passionate and active users actively creating content that is not advertisement.
In the long run; the content quality will decline because of that.
In addition, these statistics likely do not distinguish what is bot traffic that are scraping the site vs users. The bots will keep scraping.

It might be cheap but it’s also very reliable, intuitive, familiar and all that in even weird conditions… which millions of controllers prove in any gamers household every day. In addition it’s used by military forces all around the world - including bomb squads because it works (mostly its the xbox 360 as far ad know)
the problem is elsewhere - i’m almost certain of it.

As much as I dislike what’s going on - sabotaging ones work has next to 0 impact on the company scheme of things. All it does is, give you a bad exit once you leave - or if you keep it up long enough get fired.
worst case ending up with a bad reputation in the long run, since sind companies do ask previous employers for feedback. sometimes without your “ok”.
I would not recommend sabotaging your work an future
Giving an interview to press, bloggers, podcasters and stating the facts and truth afterwards… or something in that line is likely more beneficial for everyone and yourself.
I you decide it’s time to leave - regardless of reasons - try a clean exit for your own good. If you have been mistreated at work, seek legal advice.

„they” could have “solved” the necessity for owning a pirate hat. but they fucked up too many times.
even if you’re ok with just streaming and owning nothing for your money… you need like 6 subscriptions to listen and watch the stuff you want. I’m not willing nor able to spend hundreds for nothing. I used that money to purchase a large hard drive and some cool tshirts from my favorite bands.
greed is an ugly removed and I am wearing yet again my trusty old pirate hat.

Good question, I'd love to know myself.
Most chatrooms I see (regardless with protocol or platform) are idled to death by everyone; regardless how small or big the room is - there's just not much going on. And starting a conversation is often difficult
I guess people are burned out with and by various chats. Work-chat, Kids, Family-chat, School-parents-group-chat ...

In some places there is a lot of hate towards cyclists, so it's very possible. But it could also be smashed car windows. (Although I believe that should be "security glass" and should not be extremely sharp... I might be wrong)
Unfortunately though, there are many examples I've seen and lived through myself. Glass, nails, metal wires across the bike path ... I've seen it all.
I used to live in Cork (Ireland) and the hostility from drivers towards cyclists is next to deadly. I've been purposefully cut off many times in that city. And on Friday morning, after a so called "students night" the streets are littered with broken glass. Fun times.
