I like the chill atmosphere in that song with the first part only being with vocals and without instruments. There are currently only four or five songs from them but they've announced the title of the first album a few days ago, so there are new songs coming. I'm curious and excited to hear what kind of songs the new album will bring. IIRC, Metabani has won some kind of newcomer contest. The prize was a studio recording of one song.

    Jump
  • ScandalFan85 ScandalFan85 10 months ago 100%

I prefer digital books because of the following points:

    • There is a book price control in Germany, meaning that you can't get new physical books cheaper. This does not apply to digital books.
    • They take less physical space.
    • I can read them everywhere with either my Smartphone that I already have with me at all times or my tablet. I do not have to plan to read a book when I'm on the go.
    • I can quickly search for something in a reference book if I have it in digital form. This is not possible with physical books.

    Only downside:

    • I need to have a device when I want to read a digital book. And this needs to be charged. But this is rarely a problem.

Hey, no problem. Thank you for your impressions. I'm glad that there are a lot of songs that you like. :)

Though I have to say that the blatant pushing of their schoolgirl image in their earlier videos and concerts is a bit off-putting to me

This is my exact feeling. I like the mature SCANDAL more. And they worked hard to change their image. An example for this is the Koisuru universe MV.

I'm fairly new to MikroTik and no expert either, but I don't think you need a second bridge. You can add your VLANs to the default bridge and handle internet access through firewall rules. Depending on your existing firewall logic, you may have to drop/reject all traffic from the IoT subnet to the internet and all other subnets. Make sure that you add the bridge also as a tagged interface to the VLAN! Else, the DHCP server and all services on the router can not reach the IoT subnet.

I would also recommend to segregate all traffic into different VLANs (WAN, LAN, IoT, ...). This makes it easy to manage firewall rules because you can then use either VLAN interfaces or interface lists containing multiple VLAN interfaces for similiar firewall rules. You can simply untag outgoing traffic on specific ports if you want and add a specific tag for incoming traffic.

I have a similiar setup running. Everything is separated into VLANs and these VLANs are configured on the default bridge. Routing/allowing and denying traffic to/from the internet is handled by firewall rules. And I have defined interface lists like NO_INTERNET_ACCESS, NO_LAN_ACCESS, etc. These lists are then used by the firewall rules. If you later want to add another VLAN that should not get access to the internet you can simply add it to the NO_INTERNET_ACCESS list and you do not have to alter your firewall rules for that specific VLAN.

Take this advice with a grain of salt. If possible, do not test this on your production network but on a separate, isolated router.

You're right and that's why I love them. You can feel that they have fun when you go to a concert. And when they have fun, the crowd has fun too! It is quite more enjoyable when you are standing in the crowd knowing that the band members have as much fun as you.

SCANDAL are making songs that they like and not songs that may sell well. Also, they are exprimenting quite a bit. "Ai no shotai" from the latest album "Mirror" comes to mind. In that song they added a gospel choir which is something that I do not listen to every day. It is my favorite song from the album.

Plus the fact that they have a wide vararity of styles. Every album feels fresh. This surely comes with the downside that one may not like every single song. There may be songs that are more your cup of tea and songs that you do not like very much. But that's OK. Just listen to the songs that you like. (Honestly, there are SCANDAL songs that I can't seem to warm up to, no matter how hard I try. And one of them is a popular SCANDAL song. But eh, they have an impressive discography. There are so many songs that I like.)

Sorry for raving about my favorite band. 😅

I was in the same position two months ago and decided to go with the Prusa MK4 kit with the enclosure. So far I'm happy with my purchase. The deciding factor for me was lastly the loudness of the device because I wanted to use the printer in my apartment. Reviews said that the printer is relatively quiet and I can confirm that. If the door to my "printer room" is closed I'm not able to hear it.

    Some points about the MK4:

    Positives:

    • It prints very fast with the new Input Shaper firmware
    • I can control the printer via LAN and WiFi (or print directly from a USB drive)
    • Excellent print quality
    • Open Source and spare parts are avaiable for a long time

    Negatives:

    • Maintenance is complicated after installing the printer in the enclosure. You can only access the printer through the front door which makes reaching the sides of the printer difficult and removing the printer from the enclosure is not easy as well because you first have to disassemble the display unit.

I dont' have access to a Bambulab printer so I'm not able to compare both the Prusa MK4 and the Bambulab P1S. Nevertheless, I'm happy with my printer and can recommend it.

HOTEI - Andromeda (feat. AiNA THE END) [Rock] [2023] www.youtube.com

One of the songs I'm currently listening to. The song and the music video feel more like a something from a musical. I quite like it. It makes me wish to be able to understand Japanese. DeepL translates the video description as follows: >Tomoyasu Hotei's long-awaited latest work "GUITARHYTHM Ⅶ". In the 35 years since his solo debut "GUITARHYTHM" after the breakup of BOØWY, this is the seventh installment in the popular series that has impacted the scene by opening up an overwhelming world view. > >Set in the year 2023, the first year of AI, the sound concept of this album is "Retro Future," reminiscent of 90s modern music, with a message of hope and warning for the future, and Hotei's guitar sings sharply and elongated throughout the entire album. The album has been highly acclaimed by many artists who should be called "guitarism children," and has been called the best work in the history of guitarism. > >The music video for "Andromeda (feat. Aina the End)," which was released earlier in the year, has been a huge hit with fans on both sides. The film, directed by the brilliant Atsunori Higashiichi, depicts the sad and strange story of a scientist (played by Hotei) and an android (played by Aina the End) who entrust their dreams for the future to an android in a spectacular science fiction rock opera. Aina the End's stunning performance and presence, along with Hotei's silhouette, are stylishly and densely presented in this music video, which is sure to be talked about as a masterpiece that will remain in the history of music videos. > >GUITARHYTHM Ⅶ" is an ambitious work that should be enjoyed by people of all ages, and can be called the culmination of Hotei's constant challenge to new styles as a guitarist.

Yes, I did receive the live Bluray and I've seen the concert now multiple times.

The sound is perfect, camera work is good (not many unfocussed frames), image quality is very high (although you can see some "flickering" when the cameras shutter speed doesn't match with frequency of the lightning) and there are interesting camera angles. There aren't too many cuts (that's good IMO, I dont't like it when there are four cuts per second and you can't see a thing). The sound of the Bluray doesn't seem to be much post processed (auto tune and the like) if at all. You can hear it if the singer can't reach a high note (but that occurs rarely). Nethertheless, the singer's live performance is extremly good. It sounds like a studio recording. Mixing is also very good, you can hear everything very clear (I do not own any good audio equipment to judge that but with normal speakers or headphones it sounds very good).

All negative points I've mentioned above are really, really minor. You may not even be able to notice them. The Bluray is of very high quality.

Only thing I'm missing is a live performance of "GIRL AND", my favorite song from them. The concert was held last year, so there wasn't a chance that they could play it 😉

I'm very satisfied with the purchase and will surely buy the next concert Bluray as well.

TLDR: Overall, 5/7. Would recommend to buy the Bluray. 😄

    Yabai T-Shirts Yasan - Kawa-E [Live] [Rock] [2018] www.youtube.com

One of the fun songs of Yabai T-Shirts Yasan. [Here](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ciFOh2KN99U) is the MV to the song and there is also a ["Nisekoi" version](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=98PEgxQ1_BI) (I believe that this song was one of the soundtracks of the Nisekoi live action movie; I've never seen it). I remember reading an article in the Japan Times about this band after I discovered them back in 2018. Unfortunately, I'm currently unable to find it. IIRC, they met at the university in Osaka and performed at a competiton where one of the critics said that they will never be successful because of their unsual lyrics. But now (2023) they are playing on all big rock festivals in Japan and have performed in the Osaka Jo-Hall (in 2021) and Nippon Budokan (this year). Their lyrics are a bit unusal but fun. There are songs about bad Wi-Fi connections, different file formats and lots of Tank-Tops 😄

IMHO, Chatmonchy didn't consist of people who could not only write and play good music but rather talented musicians that did know how to play multiple different instruments. After Kumiko (the drummer until 2011) left the band, Akiko (bass) and Eriko (guitar) continued without any support musicians. Akiko played bass, drums and piano. Eriko played guitar, drums and piano as well. For some songs, they recorded one guitar part and played that in the background. So they sounded not like a two-piece band. You can see what I mean here where they played Konbini Honeymoon. They played an entire concert "Henshin TOUR '13 @ Zepp DiverCity" (which was released on Bluray) with this formation. I find this amazing.

Later, they did have support guitarists, support drummers and a support pianist. This can be seen at the Budokan concert held in 2015. They played some songs with two drummers! How cool is that?

Sorry for the rambling. I hope you understand what mean, I'm tired so my english is a bit janky.

One of my favorite songs from Chatmonchy. I believe it was also the first song I've heard from them.

BiSH - BiSH-星が瞬く夜に- (BiSH-hoshi ga matataku yoru ni) [Live] [Rock] www.youtube.com

*BiSH-hoshi ga matataku yoru ni* by BiSH performed on 2023-06-29 at Tokyo Dome. This was their last performance. The song is a bit special to me because it brought me to BiSH last year. What I really like about this performance is that you can hear the chanting from the audience.

I'm new to this community and this is my very first post. As my favorite band is SCANDAL, the choice what to post is easy. A classic from SCANDAL: Scandal Baby
