It's mad that it's not equal, if mothers and fathers have equal childcare leave there's no need to discriminate against hiring women full time (which is a thing that still happens, some companies don't like to take women in their mind 20s full time cos they end up taking maternity, I saw this happen first hand while I was in RBS, that was only 2 jobs/a few years ago)

Personally I'd just legislate that these cycling/scooter schemes need to come with actual racks to put the bikes instead of just some painted box on the floor.
Check out what they do in Barcelona, they have a huge cycling scheme and never have this problem.
OrlandoDoom 4 days ago • 100%
So in Barcelona they have a fantastic cycling service (bicing), there are racks that lock the bikes automatically, and all bikes have to be left in a rack. Using an app, you can see where all the bikes are and where all of the open bike rack spaces there are. Because they are locked up, people can't just take them out and start riding them (ever heard a clicky lime bike? They're easy to pinch).
The problem isn't the lime bikes themselves, it's the execution of the storage plan, leave them in this spot and send a photo of it parked clearly isn't cutting it, just put some fucking racks in so they can be kept tidy.

I go Tilburg every year anyway, so..... I mean it's not a bad town, cycling is good. Also Roadburn is the sickest festival there is.

Could really use them, garden is full of slugs.
If you have a garden that's all fenced off with no way for hedgehogs and the like to get in or out, maybe make a hole!

Sharp dropoff between 18 and 21 I bet. Never had a TV license myself, never had broadcast TV either.
If there's something I really want to watch, I'll try and buy it. If I can't buy a copy anywhere, I just pirate it.
OrlandoDoom 2 months ago • 100%
I've been pirating stuff for decades and never had so much as a warning from an ISP. Get a VPN.

Good, fine the pants off em, then nationalise without compensation
OrlandoDoom 2 months ago • 100%
I don't understand how on one hand they can say the rail services need nationalising because the private sector isn't working yet with the NHS they need more private investment?

There was a place near where I used to live that did a wicked ghost pepper curry, when I lived there I ate it at least once a week because it was fucking delicious.

I nearly got hit 2 days ago by someone who was only looking right as they were turning right out of a junction, he sped off after too, knew he fucked up.

I know you're joking but if it's any consolation any padlocks you own can probably be opened by hitting them on the side.
But yeah as has been mentioned, timpson actively hire those that have been in prison and train them up. He's definitely rehabilitation focused rather than punishment focused, which is great to see.

That and we don't really allow sex workers to have a proper place of work and hire proper security so they are left to work on the street and seek the protection of a pimp.

Green 43.8% Lib dem 31.3% (surprised me somewhat) Labour 18.8% (also surprised me somewhat) Tory 6.3% (it was the pension question, and that's the Tories target demographic, so makes sense, don't lambast me for that)
I'll be voting labour though as reform are polling higher than Tory and greens in my constituency, and they really need to stay the fuck out.

I did the survey on all topics and agreed with greens on more points than any others, in a blind test they seem sensible, almost everyone I've sent to the site has fed back more agreement with the greens than anyone else.

If something is not wet, we call it dry, still waiting for someone to tell me water is fucking dry.
I'm just talking about the wetness of water here, I support abortion rights.
Edit: most comment replies I've had on here and it's about water and if it's wet. We're so mundane.

It came out when I was 9, so I was part of the target demographic, though I didn't pick it up til I was 12 or 13 because we read it at school, though by that point I had read most of the Animorphs books, so potter came across as very tame and a bit too childish. I was already dealing with themes of war and genocide and existential crisis and everything else Animorphs threw at you.

Looking at their own site, it's made in webflow (advertised as "make a website with no code"). It's a GUI, there's no actual web development happening here. Fucking joke that this cost 100k, the business license for webflow is ~£40 a month, though they could have got away with making this site on a basic license.
There's no tech bros in the Tory party really, they clearly don't understand tech at all, it's why we keep getting shafted when they give out all our money and get nothing back.
