JUST IN: Member of Hamas Political Bureau, Ghazi Hamad:

We already expected this result at the Doha negotiations.

Netanyahu was practicing deception and did not provide answers to all the questions to reach an agreement. Netanyahu sets new conditions, undermines what was previously agreed upon, and his goal is to continue the war.

We will not allow the occupation in any way in any part of the Gaza Strip. Netanyahu wants to propose a new formula for negotiation from the beginning to gain more time.

What was reported in the Wall Street Journal about Israel’s readiness to withdraw from the corridor is not true.

Israel wants to leave a loophole in the agreement so that it can return to war later.

No agreement can pass without a complete ceasefire, the withdrawal of the occupation, the return of the displaced, and the exchange of prisoners.

Our position is strong and firm and all factions agree on it, and we will no longer enter into any futile negotiations.

‼️ The Iranian response & Hezbollah’s response are their right and have a different path than the negotiations.

Hezbollah has been fighting for more than 10 months and offering martyrs, and it is thanked for what it is doing, and the occupation only understands the language of force.

Israel has always planned on escalating the war as much as possible as it advances their geopolitical interests and so they have always sought to undermine all ceasefire negotiations. They know that the US will be forced to defend their Zionist outpost in the Middle East from an attack led by any party. The US is straight-up lying about there being a possibility that Israel will agree to a ceasefire in the hopes that Iran will delay or consider abandoning a large retaliation.

Hamas weren't even at the talks Biden is talking about here! Hamas withdrew from the negotiations because they were/are a sham. They demand Israel accept another deal agreed upon months ago.

    From Praxis Redacted telegram:

    Hamas leadership source to AJ:

What we were informed about the results of the Doha meetings (https://t.me/PalestineResist/53086) does not include a commitment to what was agreed upon (https://t.me/PalestineResist/52491) on July 2.

    Hamas sources to Al-Aqsa TV:

The Hamas movement is committed to the July 2 proposal. (https://t.me/PalestineResist/52491) What reaches us through indirect channels falls short of the presented ceiling, and Hamas will not accept it.

Ibn Riad: May God curse those who are complicit with laundering these sham "ceasefire talks", knowing full well that they are doing nothing other than buying the occupation more time to murder more and more and more. May they find no forgiveness in this world nor the next.

@BIG_Brother7 on X: (https://x.com/big__brother7/status/1824470133445730786?s=46) Qatar and Egypt, as mediators, lack even a shred of honor; if they had any, they wouldn't have taken part in this farce called ceasefire talks.

A mediator is supposed to be neutral, but these two shitstains aren't even that; they are just marionettes of the empire.

Ahmed Hassan in Yemen: Every time America and “Israel” deceive the people [to instill] a false hope, they talk about a ceasefire and the release of hostages.

This is a policy so that people lose interest and do not monitor the current events, so that America and “Israel” can manipulate and deceive the people.

We should not talk about an illusion and care about empty talk.

The ceasefire should not be conditional on the outcome of negotiations, the ceasefire and stopping the massacres is a non-negotiable issue.

Hamas leader Mahmoud Mardawi to Al-Arabi:

We will not accept any solution that does not align with the July 2 (https://t.me/PalestineResist/52491) proposal.

The Palestinian people will not pay the price for the U.S. position that covers for "israel" and its crimes.

Zionist officials to Hebrew Channel 12: We do not agree with the estimates of reducing the state of alert. We presume that an attack from Iran or Hezbollah could happen at any moment.

    Palestine's Speech to the UN Security Council - 13 August 2024 https://cdnapisec.kaltura.com/p/2503451/embedPlaykitJs/uiconf_id/47917953?iframeembed=true&entry_id=1_x4lgqqul&kalturaStartTime=6485

As we gather here for the 10th month in a row to advance a ceasefire to save human lives, Israel continues taking human lives and every action possible to spread a wildfire across the Middle East. As we sit here on the 75th anniversary of the Geneva conventions that were birthed in the ruins of entire cities, in the mass and indiscriminate killing of civilians in the death chambers, in Hiroshima and Nagasaki, as a pledge that the light will emerge out of the darkest night and protect the dignity and humanity of all persons in armed conflict. Israel is tearing the conventions apart in Gaza along with every rule humanity has ever elaborated. As we meet here in New York there are Israeli government and military officials, pundits and analysts explaining seriously, that they are entitled to carry out indiscriminate and disproportionate attacks against the Palestinian civilian population - to wage war against civilians. They explain that starvation is a legitimate weapon of war. They justify gang rape and torture against defenceless prisoners as a required deterrent - and this is not a theoretical exercise, this is what Israel is imposing against millions of Palestinians. No man woman or child spared. You demand Israel to stop killing civilians as a security Council, but it targets them in their shelters and tents. You demand Israel to allow food and medicine in, but it ensures that famine and diseases spread. You demand Israel to treat Palestinian prisoners humanely, but it tortures them and allows the Israeli jailers to rape and abuse their Palestinian hostages. You call on it to stop its settlements, but it rapidly accelerates its colonization of Palestinian land. You urge Israel to uphold the historic status quo at the holy sites, but its ministers and settlers desecrate Al Aqsa each time more openly and provocatively. So let me state the obvious: Israel does not care about your condemnations. Let me repeat. Israel does not care about your condemnations. It dismisses your resolutions. It does not even listen to your debates - their representative will be playing with his iPhone while you are talking. As countries, as a Security Council, you had a responsibility to act months ago to stop this impunity, as the genocide continues you have a responsibility to react to save human lives and preserve the foundations for peace and security for all, not just for some. Israel is a rogue state with a rotten government, due to the unbridled impunity it has enjoyed so far. I have no doubt that the tides will turn and we will not be deterred in making sure no one can act as if Palestinians lives are worthless. But Palestinians in Gaza cannot wait for the tide to turn. Their agony must stop now, must stop right now! They wonder if you see them. Do you ever think; what if you were born in Gaza? What if the prisoner raped was your son? What if the children starving to death were your own? What if that woman killed was your daughter or your wife? What if the disease that was riddling the body of your mother/your grandmother? What if that family that was blown into pieces or burned to death was yours, killed in cold blood after running in desperation and hunger for months to survive? Just consider for one moment the sheer agony and despair that our people have suffered. All these long months of deprivation and devastation lashed upon them while the world watched and left them to suffer, starve, and die. Mr President, while we acknowledge and welcome the international consensus that has long called for an immediate ceasefire, clearly Israel has rained a veto right over that prospect. This must be brought to an end. Israel cannot continue to defy the world and every rule of humankind. It is not a coincidence. Every time the world pushes for a ceasefire, Israel responds with a massacre like the one in the school. It sends a message each more gruesome than the one before that. It will not stop but there is no right to commit genocide. Obviously no. And we warn all those contributing directly or indirectly to the emergence of such a right - there is nothing that can justify Israeli actions! Nothing! And don't anyone dare say this is about the hostages - it's not about the hostages! it became apparent long ago that this Israeli government could care less about them. The hostages know it. Their families know it. You know it in the Security Council. Israel is killing them, abandoning them, playing with their lives. Netanyahu has other priorities - self-serving ones, maniacal ones - he's a maniac! Something terrible is happening in Israel, something that has made justifying genocide, famine, and gang rape mainstream ideology. Something horrific - horrific is happening. The memory of the Holocaust, instead of serving as an unbreachable barrier against the commission of atrocities, has been instrumentalized to justify their commission. How is this possible 10 months later, with the whole world opposed to it? Because that opposition has yet to lead to serious consequences for Israel. This is a hard fact you have to face, there are no consequences! They're not going to listen to you; to those who continue to arm Israel, to those who still have the audacity to “call on Israel” to investigate its own crimes, as if the actions of its soldiers do not reflect the actual policies of its military and political leaders, to those who dare to try and deter International courts from ensuring accountability, instead of deterring the perpetrators of atrocities. Wake up! Wake up! How long do you have to remain in denial? Wake up! Stop finding excuses. Stop imagining that you can reason with the Israeli government so it stops killing civilians by the thousands, imposing famine, torturing prisoners, colonizing and annexing our land - all while you appeal to them, calling them. Demand them to stop. You have to tell them to stop! And you have the tools to make them stop as a Security Council and as nations in your national capacity. You have to decide: what do you stand for, and what do you stand against. This is not a time for justifications and equivocations, this is a time for clarity and resolve. This is time to shore up principles and morals. Do not abandon your duties, do not abandon your duties as a Security Council. You have the tools to make what you decide a reality, and no one should be above the law. If you choose to do that, if you have the political will to implement what you decide, Mr President, when will the Israeli government be held accountable for its actions? When will the war criminals be sanctioned? And as my brother from Algeria it is time to sanction. We reject a position whereby you would be against hostage taking except when the hostages are Palestinians, and whereby you would sanction war criminals except when they are Israelis. We cannot come back here over and over again and pretend that everyone does not all know that Israel will not listen until it has no choice but to listen. You have to make them have no choice but to listen to you. Until there are consequences for its crimes. You cannot commit a crime and get away with it, there has to be consequences for those committing crimes. For those who want to defend the Geneva conventions and all the conventions’ elements, when in article one it says that you have to ensure, in all times, compliance with the provisions of the conventions. And you see them getting away with murder and you keep repeating the same thing. When are you going to enforce your decisions and international law? You need to impose sanctions on those criminals - you do that, they will stop continuing to commit these crimes and atrocities and genocide against the Palestinian people. We reject a position whereby you would be against hostage taking as I said except when the hostages are Palestinians and whereby you would sanction war criminals except when they are Israelis. We cannot come back here over and over again and pretend that everyone does not know that Israel will not listen until it has no choice but to listen - until there are consequences for its crimes. Palestinians are exhausted, surrounded by death and endless horrors and they know that your words are no match for the bombs and bullets taking away their lives and limbs. But words are not all this council has, words are not the only tool your countries have - some have gone beyond words. They are too rare, this is a time to act as a number of you have stated, and you will be judged not only for the eloquence of your speeches, but also and more importantly for the courage of your actions. Show some courage! Show some bravery! Take actions! Stop the criminals in getting away with murder! Mr President, we don't want Israel to torture our prisoners a bit less as some say that, torture them a bit less. We want to see them free! We don't want Israel to make its occupation a bit less brutal, we want to see it end! Our people deserve freedom! The International Court of Justice has been unequivocal in its determination that “the sustained abuse by Israel of its positions as an occupying power through annexation and an assertion of permanent control over the occupied Palestinian territory and continued frustration of the right of the Palestinian people to self-determination violates fundamental principles of international law and renders Israelis presence in the occupied Palestinian territory unlawful.” Their presence in the occupied Palestinian territory is unlawful, therefore the court said it has to end as quickly as possible. This illegal occupation and all the illegal, inhumane, racist and destructive policies that flow from it must end. The Palestinian people will not disappear and they will not surrender. They will not relinquish their legitimate aspiration to live in freedom and dignity in their ancestral land. I urge the Security Council to act - I urge you to act. And in the coming days we will go to the General Assembly to make sure that it upholds its charter responsibilities - to make sure that the determinations of the highest court in the world, the ICJ, is translated into political will, and momentum into concrete actions to be pursued by the UN and its member states, to end this illegal action as soon as possible, to protect civilians life, to preserve and pursue peace and security. Dag Hammarskjold once stated “The United Nations was not created in order to bring us to heaven, but in order to save us from Hell.” History will remember that the Palestinians were left to endure Hell, now the fire they have painfully endured for almost a year is spreading to devour everything around in our region there is only one way to stop a man-made fire. It is not enough to tend to the flames, you need to stop the arsonist. Let me repeat what our people in Gaza is saying and they have been saying that and they cannot take it any longer. Enough is enough. You have to act to put an end to this cruel criminality and genocide against our people in Palestine, particularly in the Gaza Strip. Will you do that? All of you, you gave beautiful statements, you showed unanimity in rejecting their criminal action, but that is good, not sufficient. Show the will and the resolve to act on that basis with the tools that you have, with the Mandate given to you by the charter, to come to the Palestinian people and serve them Justice, to stop the criminals from continuing in what they are doing. Can we count on you? Thank you Mr President.

The Katyusha rockets favored by Hamas and Hezbollah typically cost about $300 a round, while the Iron Dome’s Tamir missiles cost anywhere from $20,000 to $100,000 each, depending on whose numbers are being quoted. (The Israeli government will not officially disclose this information.) Also, some sources suggest that two Tamirs are fired at each incoming projectile to ensure success, which, if true, would double the cost of each interception.

How is it remotely sane to give support to any candidate who backs an ongoing genocide? It's only sane to do so if you're apathetic to the said victims of genocide and know that their ghosts won't affect you after they've been murdered by the politicians you've elected.

If there are 2 buttons, and both will result in the commission of Genocide, you don't press either button. This is why this meme wouldn't work in its usual context if the buttons said that.

Any voter or potential voter who has moral principles and values should withhold support for any candidate who supports or enables the most serious crime known to humanity.

If a political opponent of Adolf Hitler was vying for election in Germany in 1932 or 1933, and that political opponent also had the same views towards Jews and/or other ethnic, racial, religious and national groups as Adolf Hitler, with the same intention to commit and use the power of their office to facilitate genocide against those groups as the NSDAP has, you don't vote for that other candidate, even if they maintain free elections within a fascist Germany. On principle, every person has a moral responsibility not to support, nor facilitate the crime of Genocide. A true democracy allows for true political expression of the population and doesn't force its electorate to back a Genocide.

I hope I'm not being OTT or patronizing. When talking about an ongoing Genocide against a group it's off to reduce the (unfortunately) political issue of Genocide prevention to the less serious language used in US domestic politics. And there ought not to be a reason why Palestine is less important than Ukraine or Russian influence in Europe. I mean Palestine is fucked right now and has been since 1948. Why would European people let Palestine be fucked for decades since it doesn't affect Europe but care about Ukraine since it does? I dunno such a shit situation.

I think the South African team presented their arguments extremely well. I wonder what extreme Oct. 7 atrocity propaganda Israel has prepared to show the UN's highest court tomorrow. Surely that's all they can do since they haven't been able to refute any single argument presented by South Africa. Initially, each side was given 2 hours to make statements, Israel requested an extension to 3 hours.

All they had to do was play back the Zionist's own statements to prove they were genocidal. So far they've claimed that Hamas is the party committing genocide (ridiculous), but as was explained by South Africa, they are not a state party and so aren't subject to the Genocide Convention.

Vaughan Lowe argued strongly that nothing can possibly merit a response of Genocide in any context. This simple fact must expose whatever attempt to reframe themselves as victims that Israel will try to pull tomorrow.

What I think will happen is that the court will find they are committing genocide, and then all Western leaders will say that they disagree with the conclusion the ICJ/ICC found.

So much nonsense has been flung around by Israel and its supporters in the last few months, I don't see why they'd suddenly want to return to some semblance of logic and reason just because their obvious crimes have been formally recognised.

I think it is both. People are naturally the most revolutionary in times of crisis and struggle. It is the conditions which are created by the capitalist system that make the people feel that the system they live under is untenable, especially with rapid changes in conditions as experienced during financial crises. Many within the bourgeoise study the instability of capitalism in order to protect their capital or to profit from it.

My comment probably contains information most readers already know about. I saw an account which geolocated the place where they were abducted from (Jabalya, north Gaza city) and I also saw a tweet giving some names of the people pictured. I haven't seen anything confirming with 100% certainty that they were murdered. However, it seems implicit that they were murdered, given that the image circulating is of tens of people kneeling blindfolded in lines on the ground in what looks like a large excavated place in front of a hole.

Main Zionist accounts are disseminating that they are all Hamas members (from the tunnels they flooded?) although I've seen multiple posts claim that they were abducted from a UN building. Zio-fascists also say it's normal to strip people naked to check they don't have suicide vests or weapons, and that stripping people naked is necessary to identify Hamas members. And that the photo which appears to be a mass grave is actually just a facility to process terrorists? It is a large open area with no wall or fence. It's just the usual disinformation crap.

It must be pretty clear from this level of dehumanisation that this is a genocide. All these images are taken by occupation forces and published as propaganda. They're not trying to hide it - their view is that this is a win.

I rediscovered this comment from lemmy.world on October 9. Kinda speaks for itself about how the narrative changes. I'm not trying to brigade.

Yesterday I saw Motaz’s Instagram reel. He was in Deir Al Balah, where he filmed the aftermath of an intense Israeli attack. I have seen graphic images and videos from the war in Syria, from the war on Gaza in 2014, and from earlier in the 2023 Gaza genocide. I can’t remember ever seeing footage worse and more heart-wrenching than what Motaz posted.

I will write this from my memory. I think in those few minutes there were at least 10 casualties shown. The start of the video is the recovery of only a severed hand from a smouldering pile of metal. Building(s) were levelled and blown open, and ash and concrete dust were everywhere. Someone got blown backwards onto what I think was a tree and died with his lower body in the air and a piece of shrapnel penetrated his crown/skull, so fluid from his brain and the rest of his body was pulled down behind him. I saw someone still alive brought onto a mattress with shrapnel penetrating his leg, the top of his leg bone snapped, it left and re-entered his skin through the open wound as he readjusted himself. I saw this also happen to a young girl in Gaza weeks ago.

I think I remember 3 or more dead children being brought out from under rubble, and more dead adults. A bunch of cars were on fire. I saw someone say the death toll from that specific massacre was 43 at the time, now put at 60-70.

    CW: [1] [2] [3]

This was in the south of the Gaza Strip, where they were initially told by the occupation army that they would be safe. Predictably, they have now extended the line even further, and the occupation is now attacking Khan Younis, dropping more leaflets in the sky. The aim of these leaflets is to spread terror and attack any feeling of safety that the people of the Gaza Strip might still have in their homeland. The same strategy which was used by the Zionist forces to carry out the first Nakba. In the West Bank Israel flew quadcopters equipped with speakers to fly up to Palestinian people and say in Arabic “We are at war, don’t try to resist us or else we will reach you and your children, and kill you.” or something like that according to translations I’ve seen people make. The thousands of massacres committed by Israel should prove to everyone that they don’t care about humanitarianism. Apparently, yesterday was the heaviest day of fighting according to an IDF commander.

In conclusion, the only place within the Gaza Strip where a Palestinian is maybe permitted the right to life at this time, by the occupation army, is Rafah, and the areas around Rafah. This is in line with Zionist policy as shown by the document released by WikiLeaks. Push everyone further south and then into the Sinai desert, and murder everyone else who refuses to leave with starvation, thirst, bombs and bullets. Not a single major Western leader, to my knowledge, has even said a word against this genocide committed by their ally. Not even speak when they pretend to care about an issue, as politicians often do.

The ICC must face a huge amount of pressure to investigate and attempt to prosecute these crimes against humanity after this is over and everyone in the Gaza Strip is in exile in what might become the world’s largest refugee camp. What other country would willingly submit and comply with the ICC if they refuse to punish the USA’s biggest ally after committing the crime of genocide? What mandate will they have left if they prove themselves to that extent not to be apolitical?

My worry is that the Sisi regime will hesitate to accept the diaspora created by the occupation and that the Zionists will make an example of the Palestinians already funnelled into Rafah in order to place huge pressure on Egypt.

My other worries were that Hezbollah would also face huge pressure to escalate its attacks on Israel if/when this happens. Perhaps the commentators who say that Hezbollah exists primarily to defend Lebanon and that it isn’t equipped to wage a massive war with Israel are right. I’m not the most informed person about whether there is a prospect of a larger escalation. I have seen stories over this year predicting a major economic financial crisis next year. What got Western countries out of the great depression was the military production of the Second World War. I hope my thinking is just misguided alarmism.

I had to leave my thoughts here. I don’t know what I could have done which would have made any difference to this.

Edit: Immediately after posting this, I learned that the UN Secretary-General António Guterres just invoked Article 99 of the UN Charter.

The Secretary-General may bring to the attention of the Security Council any matter which in his opinion may threaten the maintenance of international peace and security.

Ok, so I got confused. These are in reference to two different child hostages, one named Emily (9), and another named Emilia (5).

I assume that the signoff Danyal is an alternate translation of Danielle [Aloni], the mother, who was released with Emilia Aloni on Friday.

Emily Hand was released on Saturday. Her father Thomas Hand wasn't a hostage hence why he was able to say he was happy his 9 y/o daughter was dead. Now he is overjoyed that she's been returned to Israel instead of shot on Oct 7, and she is 'better than expected'.

The Taoiseach (Irish Prime Minister) Leo Varadkar described Emily's release as an "enormous joy and relief", adding that "an innocent child who was lost has now been found and returned".

The Israeli foreign minister criticised these remarks, posting on social media: "Emily Hand was not “lost”, she was kidnapped by a terror organization worse than ISIS that murdered her stepmother".

Mr Varadkar defended his comments, saying: "The vast majority of people will know what I meant."

They can't even let world leaders express happiness towards the safety of the hostages without condemning Hamas.

    From Hamas Online Telegram:

A letter written by an Israeli captive to Al-Qassam Brigades hours before leaving the Gaza Strip…!

To the generals who have accompanied me in recent weeks, it seems we will part ways tomorrow, but I thank you from the bottom of my heart for the extraordinary humanity shown towards my daughter, Emilia. You were like parents to her, letting her go into your rooms whenever she wanted. She’s admitted that she feels like all of you are her friends, and not just friends, but truly beloved and good people.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for the many hours you spent as caregivers. Thank you for being patient with her and showering her with sweets, fruits, and everything available even when you didn’t have it.

Children should not be held in captivity, but thanks to you and other kind people we met along the way, my daughter felt like a queen in Gaza... In general, she says she felt as though she was the center of the world. She hasn't met anyone on our long journey, from the rank and file to the leadership, who didn't treat her with gentleness, affection, and love.

I will forever be a prisoner of gratitude because she did not leave here with a lifelong psychological trauma. I will remember your kind behavior, granted here despite the difficult situation you were dealing with yourselves and the severe losses you suffered here in Gaza. I wish in this world we could truly be good friends.

I wish you all health and well-being... Health and love to you and your families' children. Many thanks.

    Danyal and Emilia

Here is the reaction of Emily Hand's father after being lied to by the IDF about her dead body being found on Oct 12.

"[Israeli authorities] said, "We found Emily. She's dead," and I just went "Yes!" I went "yes", and I smiled, because that is the best news of the possibilities that I knew.

''She was either dead, or in Gaza. And if you know anything about what they do to people in Gaza, that is worse than death,"

"They'd have no food. They'd have no water. She'd be in a dark room filled with Christ knows how many people.

"And terrified every minute, hour, day, and possible years to come. So death was a blessing. An absolute blessing."

    So anyway that's fucked up.

    EDIT: These are different children.

A large part of the reason I prefer discussions on Lemmy over Reddit is that people will actually engage with you rationally on this site. How is it enjoyable to engage with patronising people who only pretend to address your arguments? If a Lib wandered over to Lemmygrad they'd be told why they're wrong instead of just being immediately banned by mods or told to formally fuck off or some shit.

Geopolitics replaces class struggle with the struggle between nations, which is obviously reactionary to everyone who understands Marxism

Who actually sits and types that nobody is allowed to analyze any relationship between nations or else they're a fascist? That's clearly class reductionism to me.

So more of the usual Zionist propaganda crap got released today, just like any other day since the 7th of October. How will I explain this? Today there has been released a pre-recorded video of a sketch (I don't know what else to call it) of an actress posing as a 7 Oct Hamas rape victim reporting their rape to a fictitious organisation called "Police Global." So basically the video is orchestrated to create a strawman narrative of how the international community supposedly disregards and ignores rape victims of Hamas militants. In this video, the actress theatrically cries throughout and also claims that al-Qassam militants filmed themselves committing real/fictitious/theatrical rape, and the victim turns their screen to show Police Global the rape film they acquired from Hamas, of themselves being raped by Hamas, which is then dismissed by two other actresses, one of which represents Police Global, another of which is a portrayal of a Hamas supporting western feminist who works for Police Global in a pink shirt. The woman in the pink shirt says that rape is fine against Israelis or something, to the crying depicted rape victim. There's now a new hashtag being circulated by Zionists alongside this new digital media, #rapeisnotresistance.

The video was originally uploaded to Instagram (with 2.1 million views and growing), then shared on Twitter/X with at least 1 million views in one tweet.

Typing an accurate description of this few-minute-long video and its reach makes me feel like I'm going insane. Yet someone employed by an official organisation in Israel with substantial state-backed funding mentally conceived of this concept, spoke with their colleagues about it, got the idea approved, a team wrote a script, made props, and communicated with actresses to act out a staged rape report video.

If I recall correctly, the festival mass rape story was retracted?

Anyways, I did a reverse image search of the actress who played the Oct 7 rape victim and found that she works for an organisation called "The Hive" (הכוורת). They have a YouTube channel where they talk about their work as "Social Entrepreneurs", funded by two large organisations, 'Joint Israel', and 'National Insurance Funds'. There are literally animations in their videos where paper money falls from the top to the bottom of the screen, advertising that their "social entrepreneurship" is lucrative. What I'm getting at is that they're obviously a propaganda company that markets propaganda. Millions of people are getting their heartstrings pulled at in order to support an ongoing genocide against one of the most oppressed peoples in the world. It has been well over a month and I still haven't seen any proof of any sexual abuse during the Al-Aqsa Flood operation, nor have I seen any trusted source outside of Israel verify footage of sexual abuse that is adamantly proclaimed to be easily accessible by Zionists.

    Link to the below image.

The below image is a direct screenshot from one of the YouTube videos published by The Hive. The organisation is clearly advertising this actress's ability to fake cry.

His voice broke when he remembered his partner, who was besieged in MMD at the time. According to him, only on Monday night and only after the commanders in the field made difficult decisions - including shelling houses on their occupants in order to eliminate the terrorists without knowing whether the Israelis in those buildings were alive or dead - the IDF L completed the takeover of the kibbutz.

The cost of the Hamas attack was terrible: at least 112 Bari residents were killed. Others were kidnapped. Yesterday, 11 days after the massacre, the bodies of a mother and her son were discovered in one of the destroyed houses. It is believed that more bodies are still lying in the rubble.

    --Haaretz

There are images of homes in Be'eri etc. in other articles, blown to rubble, razed, and with bullet holes in the walls. Articles published shortly after Oct 7 generally blamed Hamas directly for casualties and didn't talk about fatalities caused by largely indiscriminate attacks by the IDF. After looking at a photographer's Getty Images page (cited by ABC News) I will post links to some images. For some reason, I don't think that this was caused by Hamas.

I feel really irritated by this human shields narrative, mostly because it is so stupid and baseless that I honestly don't know how to address people who believe it. I feel the same way now as I did when the world was bombarded with this crap in 2014.

How can anyone read into any aspect of the conflict on any day and come to the honest conclusion that the IDF's campaign is justified, all because every Palestinian civilian fatality is a "human shield"? How come I've never heard a Zionist provide a concrete definition of a human shield?

Human shields have been used in conflicts before. The example that comes to mind for me is in former Yugoslavia when Bosnian Serb forces held UN peacekeepers as hostages inside barracks to deter NATO from bombing them. That is a legitimate example of a human shield. In this example, the hostages deterred bombing, and there were also negotiations which took place to secure the release of those UN hostages.

In contrast in Gaza, any civilian who dies from a bombing is retrospectively labelled as a "human shield", and most of the time no information is provided as to who the target of the bombing was, nor whether civilians were forced to remain in the vicinity of said target. We are just expected to believe that all hit buildings surrounding the hospitals they terrorise contained a legitimate military target. Same with bakeries. Same with ambulances. Same with refugee camps. Surely that is evidence enough that they're not human shields? If the Israeli forces are not deterred by these "human shields", then they either cease to be or never were, human shields.

Whenever they drop a bomb, the whole world is just expected to believe that the civilian wasn't a civilian, or that the building was a Hamas base, or that it contained rockets, or that there was a tunnel entrance inside the building, or that there is a tunnel somewhere underneath it, or that it was used to fire rockets. The term "human shield" in this context has something to do with skewing the validity of all of the victims.

Do any comrades here have views on what is currently happening in Ethiopia?

I was researching it today, as I recently heard about the refugee and humanitarian crisis, however it is super depressing. It's also difficult to know which sources are reliable, as there is conflicting information going around about the conflict. Brief summary: Tigray (northern province of Ethiopia) held parliamentary elections in September, against the wishes of the federal government, citing coronavirus restrictions as the reason. After the Tigray People's Liberation Front won the election, the Ethiopian government refused to recognise it. The TPLF reportedly attacked a barracks of the federal government's national army (something the TPLF denies), and was subsequently declared a terrorist organisation, leading to a military operation into Tigray to deal with the group. The internet, electricity and phone lines have reportedly been cut off by the government, and ethnic violence has been stoked. I've seen reports of a massacre with 500-600 victims in [Mai Kadra](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mai_Kadra_massacre). Some sources say it was perpetrated by a militia loyal to the TPLF, some say it was perpetrated by a militia loyal to the government. This has all lead to tens of thousands of refugees fleeing to Sudan.

Apple have designed their new $800+ iPhone 12 to almost completely break after any repair attempt. www.youtube.com

I'm slightly late posting about this here but figured I'd do so anyway. You can see what their anti-repair measures look like at around the 7:50 mark. With this new iPhone release, they have also stopped shipping their charger ($19), USB charging cable (opting instead for a lightning to USB-C cable), and earbuds ($159+). They have cited environmental concerns as their excuse to force their customers to spend possibly hundreds of dollars extra for products that will be end up being delivered separately. >As some people have hinted or guessed at in this thread, there is a specific software tool you must run on the phone once you replace components like the camera, battery or display. This tool is only made available to Apple and to its certified repair partners. I will leave it to everyone else to discuss the implications of this policy. >Source: I fix Apple phones [Source](https://www.reddit.com/r/videos/comments/jn6xa3/apple_introduces_artificial_bugs_and_glitches/gb010cg/?utm_source=reddit&utm_medium=web2x&context=3) Continuing to purchase their products will only encourage this behaviour further. Boycott Apple.
