Loved the book! Is the show worth watching?

That is a really cool idea! I haven't an acoustic to try it on, but I'm interested in giving it a go with different effects or EQ on an electric for left and right! :)

Thinking about it, I would not put it past me to have set it and forgotten 😂 it's been a while since I played about with the settings!

You convinced me, I'm totally adding this today! :)
I also would throw in sponsorblock to that too - it skips all the "but first, Raid Shadow Legends..." "don't forget to like share and subscribe" nonsense :)
edit: thank you, I just poked into YouTube Revanced, and found DeArrow was on! This explains why I didn't like youtube's content when on my PC, so I'll 100% be adding this to Firefox! :)

Aw, but I love my Yammy! 15 years on and it's the only guitar I know will just take whatever dumb tuning I want to try, and it sounds okay doing it! :) poor little guy gets played as much as my nice ones!

Aw! That's an instrument I've not thought of for some time! I did a whole presentation on this creature at Uni, and made a javascript version that might still work, at least on desktop! :)

ooh also this page is worth a look :)

Darn do I love these! Each element is just brilliant, and that slide bass always makes me want to play "wrong" and try new things! :)

Nice!! I had no idea this was a cover! :) A new band to check out, I really like the original version! :) Thank you for posting this

According to Wikipedia's track listing, it was Sappy (which might at the time have had the name "verse chorus verse") :)

If you absolutely insist I listen to Doolittle again... fiiiine! :)

That's quite close by, and a visit is in order! :)

Thank you! This is going to sound daft, but I had forgotten steam allows you to uncheck DLC like that! :) it's so rare that I'd opt-out (in fact this might be the only time I have needed to!) :) thank you again

I have a video of a news piece showing a penguin happily waddling around in a Japanese neighbourhood wearing a Pingu backpack. It is an important video, it makes the world happy for a few minutes. :)

That's impressive! :) You wouldn't happen to know anything about the Milton Keynes one would you? I've been searching and couldn't find any links, but would love to go and visit it! :)

Oh no! I'm so cosy on mint, but now I'm eyeing Fedora and it looks snazzy, and maybe cyberpunk is a fun prospect too! :)
GoOnASteamTrain 4 weeks ago • 100%
How odd! I must admit with cyberpunk, I was reading ProtonDB and had a "that's one fine game... why doesn't mine look like that!" Simpsons moment. 😅

Nice! Consider me doubly motivated to give it another go this weekend :)

I am indeed! I tried popping in the skip launcher commands from a few people on ProtonDB, and it seems to be rather grumpy with me 😅 I've read it could be the Phantom Liberty DLC being DRM'd, but not sure :)
GoOnASteamTrain 4 weeks ago • 93%
Aw, I can't get cyberpunk to run on my mint install - it gets the logos and stops responding.
Some people read about performance, sometimes I'm just motivated knowing someone on the internet did get a game running in the first instance! :)
I will say though, Baldurs Gate 3 works perfectly, as does anything else I throw at it! :)

I didn't realise I had it unticked, and feel silly for thinking Lemmy didn't support them! Totally keeping it unticked, but thought it was funny :)

Yay! Glad you're enjoying it so far :)
I can also say the past month or two rocking Mint have been a breath of fresh air, everything feels fast and I've only had one GOG game not run (think I could with some effort) :)
Even the Unity game engine works, and debugs, it's lightyears ahead of my previous goes at Mint over the years (and they only "ended" because of needing music software for college and uni!)
Hope it continues to treat you well! Also you may wish to indulge in the greatest Linux feature I know, which is Wobbly Windows - it makes your windows wobbly when dragged, which is very enjoyable for reasons I am not sure of! :)

It was in fact a protest because dinner would take an hour and a yorkshire pudding fell out its bag while I was rummaging in the freezer! I needed sustenance and gravity obliged, it would have been rude to deny my destiny. 😊
I am sure that my sacrifices and heroism in a trying time are just what any other normal, sane person would have done... I should think probably I guess

Frozen yorkshire puddings with raisins inside. A bit of sweet, a bit of cronch.
I am aware of what I have said, and stand by my poor life choices that led to this brilliant discovery.

I remember being taught in A-level history 10+ years ago that on top of this the economy was being fuelled by remilitarisation.
The conclusion we were given was that the bubble could burst if the stuff was made, then not used or needed, so potentialay Poland and France, Russia etc were invaded or in the case of Russia attempted) 5 years early or something to that effect.
I haven't kept up with historical things for a while, and this take might have changed in that time. :)

I miss the number of users meaning there was always some kind soul also interested in my niche interest, be it coding, obscure band I just found... that was neat. :)
I don't miss the number of users meaning lame memes and boring gibberish clogging the pipes, not to mention the argument people on the big subs. :/
I have heard some wacky migraine treatment techniques, and thought if anyone is on here, it could be a potentially interesting light-hearted thing to discuss. Reddit swore by McDonald's fries (salt intake?), but what prompted me to think to post this was my new DIY "heat treatment" for retinal migraines. I like warm or cold things on the pain, and cooling strips etc are sold as migaine treatments. So one day I figured blasting my eye pain with a hair-dryer was worth a punt because why not? Instantly pain free! I swear by it, it is temporary relief like I have never had before! The internet says heat possibly tricks pain receptors, I say dumb method works! I thought this was funny enough to share. With this tale out the way, what are Lemmy's wacky migraine superstitions or unorthodox migraine strategies? Edit: blasting one's face with a hair dryer is not medical advice! I am just a moron on the internet, and this is purely anecdotal
Hi everyone :) I was wondering if anyone would be interested in chatting about things similar to Blade Runner/Philip K Dick? I've read pretty much all of his books that I get my hands on, but am sadly hitting the point where it's an event when I find one I've not already read. :) Do any other Science Fiction writers or films scratch the same itch? :) To throw one of his own into the discussion: We Can Build You is fantastic - much slower, but explores androids, and their impact on the human characters. :)
