I saw a joke about Threads doing the smallest possible steps into the Fediverse integration, and getting press coverage for it, and.. I don't think it's even a joke anymore, cause what
Threads just added a link to open Fediverse sharing tab in settings, that's it
> > > It’s a small advance, but one that speaks to Meta’s enginerring team paying attention to how the fediverse community is trying to educate Threads users about the possibilities. > >

@Blaze@feddit.org I just want to note that it's a feature request on GitHub right now, it was already implemented on KBin (even tho in a bit weird way), so it's definitely possible

There's a list on the Mbin's website, I'm surprised it wasn't mentioned yet
I can recommend these instances:
- fedia.io (It's the biggest one, so it would be better to avoid for the decentralization)
- kbin.earth
- thebrainbit.org
The later two are run by mbin devs so they should be pretty good
Additionaly there's !AskMbin@fedia.io magazine, so you can ask questions there instead.

Same with me, I migrated from Firefish to Sharkey, I hope I'll not need to migrate software again, but oh well, who knows, if I'll have to, I'll prob still stick to *key

@BeAware@social.beaware.live BlueSky does have some moderation features that Fedi doesn't have, like moderation lists or labelers, but I don't think this is the main reason, Threads have even less of them and they gain much more users

@boredsquirrel@slrpnk.net Same, PeerTube has so much good and interesting content, this content just doesn't get exposure because of bad discoverability

True, but I see it more like a BlueSky PDS (instance) than a separate service build on top of AT protocol
Btw you can even follow Bridgy from MBin, but federation doesn't work very well @bsky.brid.gy@bsky.brid.gy

@FrostyTrichs@walledgarden.xyz Eh, personally, I think that as long nobody forces anyone to use something it's fine, more variety is always good for the federated network
Fitik 3 weeks ago • 100%
@FrostyTrichs@walledgarden.xyz Yep, TechCrunch even addressed it in the article
Developed over the past few months, sub.club shares engineering and design resources with Mammoth, the Mastodon app backed by Mozilla, Long Journey Ventures and Salesforce’s Marc Benioff. Though some fediverse supporters don’t like the idea of VCs and for-profit businesses entering their space, Mammoth’s co-founder Bart Decrem thinks bringing money into the fediverse could help it to thrive.
Sub.club thinks premium feeds could also serve other use cases, like supporting helpful bots or generating funds to help maintain a community's Mastodon server, for instance.

@Auster@lemm.ee You can just use an instance that is defederated from them, that's the beauty of the Fediverse
According to https://lemm.ee/instances your instance already blocks them for example

Sharkey, but Threads quotes show up in basic Misskey as well
Fitik 3 weeks ago • 100%
Yea, they play fine, I use Misskey fork as my main instance, and it even supports quotes
Maybe your instance have defederated from them? Also the Fediverse sharing is opt-in in Threads, so like 95% or more Threads users haven't turned it on, cause they have no idea it exists
Fitik 3 weeks ago • 100%
Because right now the Threads federation is still pretty one sided, the Fediverse users can reply to the Threads posts, but the Threads users can't see the Fediverse posts, only replies
And with how Lemmy works, you can't reply to the microblogging accounts, you can't reply to Mastodon's posts neither, so you can't get your replies federated
Fitik 3 weeks ago • 96%
Note: You can't interact with Threads accounts from Lemmy, but you can interact with Threads accounts from MBin (and maybe PieFed), except if your instance is defederated from them obviously
There's POTUS account for example @potus@threads.net

I use Sharkey instance as my main and it's pretty good, it's stays upstream with Misskey (Like Glitch-don stays upstream with Mastodon), so I feel like there's a smaller chance of it being abandoned

Current discussions on the framework of the legislation “won’t take long,” and the draft law will be presented in more detail in the coming days, he said.
