Help stop #ChatControl 2.0 from spying on all EU citizens. Even encrypted applications will be forced to implement ChatControl in the EU, there is no way out. Act now!

Sorry but no, MEGA is good. It's consistently rated among the best for privacy, performance and price. Imho Proton Drive is the best and most promising though.

No Internet Explorer either, and it has a bigger market share than Brave... Not everything Mozilla does is some evil conspiracy, they just put their browser on a table comparing it to its biggest competitors. Please go outside.

Why is this getting downvoted? I get that it doesn't provide a reasonable solution for most people, but I think they have a point. Bluetooth itself is anything but private or secure, and you should at least disable it while no devices are connected.

Never said it was user friendly, just pointed out it's an option that exists. And it's a good thing that this isn't user friendly tbh, you dont want to run Windows without updates, if you care that much, just use Linux.

Interesting article. It's a shame that most people here can't stand anyone who critizes a widely popular figure. A critical class analysis of Mark Rober's content? This challenges my established positions too much, instead of discussing in good faith, I'll just scream the loudest I can, no way I'll be wrong then.

I've used Mull before and I noticed that even with a basic configuration, it is very easily fingerprintable. That's the only reason I use Brave Browser on mobile as of now - it seems to be better at resisting fingerprinting. There's the whole Chromium monopoly debate, and I tend to allign more with Firefox and its many forks, but Brave just seems to offer better privacy in this scenario. Correct me if I'm wrong.

This is just fearmongering that has been going on for years now. Their privacy policy did not change and there is no evidence that indicates they are violating user privacy - that is simply a baseless claim. Startpage is a reliable private search engine that delivers high quality results from Google. This engine might not be for everyone, I personally would rather use DDG or Brave Search as I do not value Google results, but for those who do, I would argue Startpage is a great choice for extra privacy.

Actually, yes. Throw the word "terrorist" around as much and as ignorantly as you want, but the extremism of groups like Hamas has its roots in the decades of zionism running rampant and killing thousands of their people every year.
I find it infuriating how the west never recognizes the fact that what israel is doing to the Palestinians is a genocide. Every nation, institution or person that willfully ignores this genocide and the fact that israel should face UN intervention for it is complicit.

I wanted to make this post to try and raise awareness about internet privacy and censorship among communists, as this seems to be often overlooked in these spaces. By using big tech services, such as Google's endless arsenal of "free" services, Apple, Amazon, Meta and Microsoft, you are letting these companies learn everything about you: your interests, the people you talk to, the places you go to and your political interests. And as is well known nowadays, all of these companies are lapdogs for western intelligence agencies, [handing over all of that precious data to them](https://blokt.com/guides/edward-snowden-leaks) and censoring dissent. I hope you can clearly see the problem here. As a communist, this presents a massive threat to your freedom of speech, freedom to protest and even your safety, especially if you live in the imperial core. I urge all comrades to stop using these services, by switching to private and open source alternatives, and to use additional measures to protect your privacy such as [TOR](https://www.torproject.org/) or a trustworthy VPN like [RiseUp](https://riseup.net/en/vpn), [Calyx](https://calyxinstitute.org/projects/digital-services/vpn) or [Proton](https://protonvpn.com/). You can find more resources here: - [c/Privacy](https://lemmy.ml/c/privacy) - [Privacy Tools](https://www.privacytools.io/) - [Privacy Guides](https://www.privacyguides.org/)

He seems to be one of the most hated figures on the online left. From my view, he does have a lot of [questionable takes](https://calebmaupin.com/blog/36-technology-the-marxism-of-jack-ma), but also does bring up some good points when it comes to fighting imperialism from a leftist perspective, so I'd like to know what people in this community think about him.
A new Lemmy community for anyone interested in game piracy. A place to discuss piracy and share useful resources. There's also some useful links in the sidebar, I'll try to keep it updated. Feel free to make suggestions.
A quick guide on how to pirate and emulate Switch games on PC, both on Windows and Linux, with download links.
An easy and quick setup for emulating Nintendo Switch games on PC (on Windows and Linux systems). Keep in mind that accurate Switch emulation requires a fairly good CPU. I also recommend using an [adblocker](https://ublockorigin.com/) for this guide. # Setup Yuzu Emulator 1) **Install [Yuzu Emulator](https://yuzu-emu.org/)** 2) **Install the Keys** - Download the .key files [here](https://upload.disroot.org/r/HY2Gw4ph#vsC1Y2X3fN3T5+JZRzJg8MciH4Vas7zB5BZnStTGPD8=) - Open your Yuzu installation folder and move the two .key files to /Yuzu/Keys 3) **Setup your games folder** - Create a folder for your Switch games - Open Yuzu Emulator, double click to add a games folder and select the folder you created. 4) **Setup input emulation** - Open Yuzu>Emulation>Configure>Controls - Select your preferred input device, the emulated controller, and assign a key to each button on the emulated controller, then press save. 5) **Graphics settings** - The default graphics settings should work well enough - If you're having issues with a specific game try switching between Vulkan and Opengl - If you're facing performance issues, make sure asynchronous GPU emulation and shader building are enabled. You can also try changing the cpu and graphics accuracy. # Download Games 1) **You can download Nintendo Switch game files from [Ziperto](https://www.ziperto.com/nintendo-switch-nsp-list/)** 2) **Extract the files** - If you're on Windows, you can use [7zip](https://www.7-zip.org/) to extract multiple .rar files. 3) **Move them to your games folder** # Alternatively You can alternatively just download a repack from [Fitgirl's](https://fitgirl-repacks.site/all-switch-emulated-repacks-a-z/) small switch library, which has everything setup already. I only recommend this if there's only one switch game you want to play, and you're on Windows 10. # Issues 1) Check [Yuzu's game compatibility list](https://yuzu-emu.org/game/) 2) You can leave a comment, make a post or send me a message if you have an issue.
**[NewPipe](https://github.com/TeamNewPipe/NewPipe)** is an open source frontend app for YouTube that protects your privacy, while keeping the full YouTube experience. It has subscriptions, playlists, watch history, video and audio downloads, adblock, and more. All data is stored locally and can be manually exported, it does not use a Google account. This fork of NewPipe integrates the FOSS **[SponsorBlock](https://github.com/ajayyy/SponsorBlock)** extension, which automatically skips known sponsors inside videos (the database is crowdsourced).

People usually dismiss game piracy as being an inherently bad thing. What are your thoughts on the morality of piracy and its impact on the industry, and how that may vary between different games and developers.
TrackerControl scans all installed apps for trackers and blocks most tracking requests. It also lets you block internet access for certain apps and can monitor system apps such as Google Services. Be aware that TrackerControl often blocks trackers that are necessary for an app or certain features to work properly, so you may have to manually disable blocking of specific trackers.
