I havent yet dealt with the customer service so this is indeed something to keep in the back of my head.
Does internxt and skiff also provide fully setup nextcloud instances or do you need to set it up yourself?
I’m reading that nextcloud tends to break whenever you update it or perform administrative tasks. Hetzner does al this for you so that’s a bonus item.

I also take a lot of handwritten notes but disliked the hand writing UI on Onenote, I’m using Goodnotes for this.
It would be great to have all my notes in one system but I don’t mind that much. Goodnotes has good OCR so I can search my notes.

For me drugs, in moderation, do enhance life. A beautiful mushroom trip opening my mind to be able to see new patterns. Losing my sense of self in a ketamine trip was also a profound experience in realizing a lot of how we think is a construct and not inherently “real”.
The world, for me, is not so black and white.
That’s why I was playing with the thought of having a drink again. Now that the holidays are over the urge has lessened and I can continue my life of not drinking.

I finished it and read the sequel, loved the Shrike story line but there’s better scifi to read in my opinion.

Assuming you don’t have any mental health issues make sure you make every day worth living.
If you do have mental health issues you should probably get that looked at by a professional.
If you feel like life is a drag, and you dislike it, change it.
Try a new sport, build that hobby project you’ve always wanted, buy a motorcycle, plan a boardgame night with friends family, try that fetish you’ve been eyeing your whole life.

You go to this website from Hetzner:
https://www.hetzner.com/storage/storage-share
You sign up for one of the plans, cheapest is 5.11 EUR a month. You’ll get 1 TB of storage for this.
Storage Share is essentially some space on a server from Hetzner where the Nextcloud software is already running.

If you’re fed up with companies fucking you over there’s an alternative.
There software called Nextcloud which you can run on a server which works in comparable ways as Onedrive/Google Drive/Dropbox/etc. works.
You could host it yourself on a server if you know how.
If you’re not familiar with forwarding ports or setting static IP adresses you can rent some server space from Hetzner where Nextcloud is included.

Due to pop culture (movies, shows, games, etc.) I learned English. I also picked up two other languages due to school and influences from vacations.
So I’m fluent in three languages (Dutch, German and English) and can speak enough French to manage on vacations.
I read most of my books in English because I like to read books in their original language. I read a lot of hard scifi, this is a pretty specific genre and there’s little books in Dutch hard scifi books.
In Dutch I read general novels with no specific genre.

Thanks for the information. This is putting me off on Lemmy a bit, feels like I got to keep up with the latest instance drama to ensure I have a good experience.
Guess that’s the trade of with a decentralized system for now.

I also only read English for a long time instead of my own language.
I picked up some books in my native language and was pleasantly surprised.
The language in itself doesn’t matter but I could notice the writer was from my culture. There’re slight cultural references in books written by people from my culture.
In books from American writers theres also these cultural references which I understand because I grew up on the internet but still it’s not my culture.
I would recommend to check if you’re country/culture has some literature award prizes and check out some of the top books. Make sure to try a couple as a well reviewed book might not mean it’s a good fit for you.

Thanks man, hit the nail on the head.
When I stopped drinking I didn’t really considered I had a drinking issue.
On the other hand I also knew that people without a drinking issue would be looking at sober communities online.
… and I wonder why I’m no longer drinking. I stopped because I only wanted more after my first. This was a problem as me and my friends were doing this every every in the weekend. Stopping with drinking was a huge relief as I no longer suffered from crippling hangovers. This is now years ago and my life, and the people around me, has changed. Everyone calmed down with the drinks and is no longer going on benders. People now drink casually as “normal” people do. I wonder if I could do it because I do miss the taste of the drinks and slight buzz. On the other hand I feel blessed to have discovered this secret power of a life without alcohol and hangovers.

Like the other comments say it’s an app which prompts users to post a picture at “the same” time. Its not actually the same time due to timezones.
The idea behind it is that you don’t ge to pick the perfect time for a pic when you’re at that great location or you’re looking especially cute. This means you’ll get an insight in the real life of someone.
Practically that means you’ll just see a lot of pictures of your friends whilst they’re laying on the couch 2 feet deep in a bag of crisps.

Thanks for answering. That seems like a logical explanation. After having thought about this some more I’ve decided not to prebook my train ticket as it’s going to cause sone stress as I don’t know exactly how long customs and getting my bags is going to take. There’s too many variables to accurately determine the time of departure from Shinagawa. It seems that the Hikari Shinkansen on the Tokaido line is going pretty regularly.
I’ll look up digital Suica card, seems to me it could come in handy.
Edit: The digital Suica card can only be added if the region for the phone is set too Japan.
I’m arriving at Naritaa Airport at 08:35 and would like to continue my journey by train to Kyoto. I’ve found I can take the Naritaa Express to Shinagawa. From there I can take the Shinkansen Hikari on the Tokaido line to Kyoto. The problem is I’d like to reserve/purchase tickets beforehand. I understand I can purchase them online and I’ll need to pick them up. It seems that I can’t pick them up on Naritaa airport or in Tokyo because the Tokaido line is operated by JR West whilst Tokyo is in JR East. If I purchase a train ticket online from Naritaa Airport to Kyoto where can I pick this up on the Naritaa airport?

If all work is not the same why would people perform these difficult jobs where you fix issues on critical apps.
Simple office administration jobs which aren’t difficult can be done by anybody.
Sure, most CEOs get disproportionately paid for the position they’re in but I don't think they’re job is any less stressful or demanding than actually working with the nuts and bolts.
