Thank God but not Dave.

My grandfather was an atheist. He was born in 1913 so it wasn't a popular way of thinking. In the 1930s he was working construction and a guy on a ladder had the feet of the ladder too close to the wall. The ladder began to tip backwards and it was obvious that the guy on top was going to land on a pile of concrete rubble and probably die.

My grandfather rushed to his aid and pushed the ladder from the side as it was falling. Tis cause the man to fall in nice soft grass.

The man thanked god for his good fortune loudly and repeatedly and never said, "Thank Dave!" Even once.
