Dessalines Have you heard of KeyWiki? A far-right new-zealander many years ago started a wiki to compile data on anyone to the left of joseph McCarthy. Not only communists, but even mildly social democratic orgs. It has thousands of entries, I know people that have been listed on there. It has since grown into the largest doxxing website of activists in history, listing every personal detail they can find, from connected orgs, locations, where they went to school, even who they’re in a relationship with. Its impossible to know how many people have been targeted or attacked as a result of KeyWiki, but the site has been deemed legally protected by the NZ government. Its example tells us that if we give the far-right any technology, even something as innocent as a wiki, they’ll use it for nefarious purposes. Social media is likely even worse, since they can actively use these platforms to organize attacks, hate crimes, and target groups they hate. An anti-islam group could easily use a self-hosted fediverse service to organize an attack on a mosque for example. I agree obvi that providing an alternative to corporate-controlled services is good in the long run ( since corporate power has more of an interest than anyone at spreading racism ), but its also extremely dangerous to give the far-right any platform to organize in the interim.

What this means: for your right wing parents and friends, if you link them to wikipedia, even if they read it, they wont get it. I think they twitter will become a lot more lax on bans, potentially more strict on banning people who make fun of elon. I think trump will return to twitter. Overall, seems like a ginormous win for the libertarians/ancaps. I think we should capitalize on this moment and bring way more people to the fediverse.

I registered for Truth Social a couple of months ago. After weeks waiting to get in, I was finally accepted. My profile communicates clearly that I am a leftist. I have now spent a month on the site. Here are my takeaways. Many users have expressed to me and others that leftists and Democrats should either be removed from the country, killed, or fought in a civil war. Many users want to be challenged in their homes and communities to justify killing leftists and Democrats. Many users have tried to flip the script and are fond of calling anti-fascists fascists and Democrats and leftists Nazis. There is also a very common claim that the Nazis were aktually socialists. Absolute obsession with pedophilia. I know it’s been talked about here already but I really need everyone to understand just how rampant this rhetoric is on Truth Social. Users believe Democrats want to groom children. Users believe schools want to groom children. Users believe trans and gay people want to groom children. Users believe socialists want to groom children. The word “groomers” gets thrown around a lot, which I believe to be a spiteful response to “boomers”. Users say socialism and democratic socialism means not having money, means laziness, means Nazism. They believe Biden is socialist or communist. They believe the democrats are far left. Billionaires were smart enough and worked hard enough to earn what they earned. You can be rich if you try hard enough. Users very fond of accusing all leftists and democrats of being jobless and living in their mother’s basement (I can’t tell you how often I heard mother’s basement). Users say Jan 6 was either A) a non-violent protest, B) false flag by the FBI C) false flag by ANTIFA D) false flag by BLM E) false flag with Nancy Pelosi to blame. Users say the 2020 summer riots were all done by ANTIFA. Users also have great enthusiasm in saying any remotely violent situation anywhere, robbery, murder, etc, was done by ANTIFA. Users say ANTIFA is funded by George Soros. Users also say George Soros wants to create a new USSR within the US. Users don’t like Ukraine, UN, or EU for the most part. Some support Putin. Some don’t. Users are extremely distrustful of government and institutions, except for police and Trump. They are mad about inflation, gas, lying politicians, greed, money in government, they want term limits. Trump, of course, is the remedy to removing the deep state and saving them. There are a few antifa orgs with online presence, such as the one linked above and Torch Network, that keep tabs on this group and post thorough dox identifying many of its members. (its membership remains stagnant around 200-250 [according to its leader](https://www.theguardian.com/world/2022/jan/28/leaked-online-chats-white-nationalist-patriot-front) in leaked internal communications) Most of their activities are limited to propagandic stunts to try and gain attention: flash mob demonstrations, attempting to march alongside irrelevant right-wing protests, petty vandalism of memorials and putting up stickers. Like culture jamming minus the whole culture part. This article shows a right-watch group in action, quickly removing propaganda before sunrise and preventing the advertisement of this propaganda organization.
