I made a spreadsheet to help calculate prices for economy servers. it is based on the time you need to produce some quantity of items, subproducts and costs. you need also to verify the price of other player's markets and see if you can produce at a lower price than your competitors. any suggestions? how do you people calculate price of items?
I want to do more raids but I'm unsure on how to get bad omen, no outposts nearby and the nearest mansion, while worth visiting for dark oak is thousands of blocks away. How do I spawn patrols more? 1.18 btw
So I have a village in 1.18 Its quite big, has a fence around it. Lots of space between the houses and the buildings. How close do raid enemies spawn to the village? And also, would 6 iron golems be useful in an easy difficulty raid? I worked a lot on this village (maxed armourer, weaponsmith, mending books etc) How do I go about defending it? This is my first java raid and first raid where I don't have the village as a cobblestone cube

I used to host minecraft at a gameserver hosting service where you can easily click to select mods and so on. I figured I can host it on a more powerful cloud vserver for cheaper if I can spare the hosting tools. Can I just copy all the game files to a new server and run it with the same command, I think Java Software works that way right? It wouldn't care for libraries installed by the os, that correct? Both servers are Linux based, but the new one would be on ARM architecture - again, should be irrelevant thanks to Java right? I'll give it a try, just wanted to see if anyone has tips on what to look out for. I figured if I get proper startup and shutdown scripts setup I could even spin down the instance when I know nobody will be playing for a while and save some money. It would cost about 50 cents per month to have a separate persistent storage where the scripts could save to / recover from.. Any thoughts would be appreciated! Cheers
If all the mods available for version 1.19 are also available for version 1.20, is it possible to update the server while keeping data? If so, how?

That's so cool, so if you're still on 1.19 you can use the compact update skipping (tutorial e.g. https://youtu.be/-VTuFla1cTs originally by NicNac I believe) to create the bugged shulker and assuming it survives the update have a super convenient way for update surpression in 1.20. You could even move the surpresser around by repeating it, I mean the setup really isn't that big

I've built a bonemeal farm for the first time, in the past I never really missed it or thought it would be worth it. It's actually amazing! I used a moss based design and it was cheap and easy to build. Right after I added a micro crop farm for farming wheat which gave me easy access to the mud bricks - what a cool building block! Afterwards I realized I can set up a quick flower farm for dying all the white wool I have left over. I'll try a tree farm next, let's see if it'll be another must-have farm for me!

Forge Microblocks (or [Forge Multipart](https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/mc-mods/forge-multi-part)), and in later versions, [Chisel and Bits](https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/mc-mods/chisels-bits) are very useful mods for resource efficiency; they reduce the amount of air filled. Unfortunately I don't see many posts that highlight this usage. A commonly cited example is glowstone nooks; microblocks' glowstone still produces light, so cutting glowstone into nooks increases the amount of effective glowstone for the same light that glowstone produces. (A bonus specific to environmine is that glowstone does not produce heat like torches.)   In my [Crash Landing](https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/modpacks/crash-landing) world, I used Forge Microblocks to prevent tiny and giant spiders from climbing over the base wall. I used *way* less cobblestone than if I used *only* the cobblestone block In my cactus farm; I used Microblocks to compactly automate the breaking of cactus.  --- I love microblock mods.

I was doing some caving after 1.17 came out. How rare is it to just find one without an eye of ender? I was kind of surprised

Anybody else feel that minecraft slipped after Microsoft bought it. Before microsoft, every update felt like it added something of content, but now every update feels like its just added to make the game look better. Take the caves and cliffs update: those giant caves may look cool, but whats the fucking point? The mining experience is not really "supposed" to be this open. There was nothing wrong with the old caves, and now the new caves are not the same. I miss the pre 1.8 days of adding brand new mechanics like restone.
