Watched the Game Finals today, excellent match with unexpected characters. In fact I was most surprised at the total lack of Goldlewis players in top 6. Looking forward to season 4

Hi, I just started getting back into guilty gear after a long hiatus and I feel like I've forgotten everything lol. I'm reading the wiki again but I still feel like I'm flailing around and not getting anywhere. Got any tips for me to get back on my feet and not get pummeled to dust (other than the wiki and practice)? Playing XX Accent Core Plus R if that changes things. Thanks in advance!

Hello r/GuiltyGear moderators I am a frequent user of the subreddit and one of the founding motivators of r/TheyBlamedTheBeasts I understand you more or less abandoned the subreddit after the dumb decisions made by the developers which I understand 100% However, the only ones suffering from this decision are the members of the community I won’t ask you to come back because I know that’s probably not what you want but if you’re going to leave could you at least put somebody else in charge? I’m just trying to look out for the community of my favourite game. I personally have prepared solutions to many of the subreddits current problems that are actively killing it, if you were to make me a moderator, I can promise the sub will improve exponentially over the next week and months. What are all of you folks thinking about the new patch so far? Personally, I’ve only done games against friends today, but I’ve loved the changes. Damage being overall lower is nice, even if people have more ways to do it now with the WA and their own changes. Scaling being increased almost across the board is huge, because it feels a lot less bad to make a single mistake. For Testament (my main) specifically, I love what I got. Arbiter launching higher has been nice and opens up some new opportunities for combos, and Wild Assault even goes as far as letting me do a wall-to-wall now. My damage did get hit a little, but it doesn’t feel nearly as heavily lowered as some, like Ram. Obviously it’s the first day and there’s some honeymoon-period excitement, but I’m excited so far. How are all of you feeling about it?

Mist Finer + the card seems to work basically how people thought it would. There seems to be something interesting going on with the burst meter as well.
It seems my inspiration for videos is very narrow. But the shitposts are getting more elaborate.

There's not much new info but there are a couple of interesting tidbits. Johnny uses cards, and if you hit the cards with mist finer you get an additional hit (you can see this in the announcement trailer). Apparently they changed how you will gain burst meter? And the regular burst will also be enhanced. The other characters will get new moves "throughout the season 3 updates" Faust is storing an item with his new move.

Just a silly interaction I had while playing the other day.
Hi guys, I've recently (a few months ago) started playing Guilty Gear (because I saw some cool Faust fanart on tumblr) and I really love it so far. But I do have some questions and I wanted to get some opinions cause Google wasn't super helpful. 1. Am I supposed to use the d-pad or the joystick for combos? I've been using joystick for movement and combos, and the d-pad for dashing, but I didn't know if that was right. 2. What's the recommended order to play the games in in order to get all the story as well as the fighting bits? I didn't know there was a storyline so I don't want to miss stuff. 3. Is there a good beginner's guide with a list of all the moves that I could easily refer to when playing? I'm still discovering moves and combos I didn't know existed lol. Thanks in advance!

I would like to learn how to create mods for this game including but not limited to stages. I have coding experience and a strong computer. If anyone is willing to point me in the right direction of how to acquire this skill I would be very appreciative. I have a lot of free time and could make some cool stuff for the community.
Not sure if I'm alone with this but labbing post wallbreak stuff etc. can get tiresome with the long movies. During actual games I'm fine with it because it's valuable time for both players to look at gauges and think. I just don't like how I'm forced to watch them until I'm sick of them when I'm training. Since the game plays at 50% speed if you cap it to 30fps, maybe we could make a script/mod to flip to 120fps during these supers. The black bars might be an easy way to detect them.
For some time now I've been thinking about tipping my toe into a second character next to Baiken. But I feel like there is still soooo much to learn for Baiken, that taking on another character would be like breaking off my Baiken training. On the other hand I feel like I put so much work into Baiken already (about 100 hours). Working my way up to that point with another character feels like a daunting task. I also only have 1-2 hours every couple of days to play and I'm not sure I can deal with learning a new char and maintaining my Baiken skill level. Hoe do you fellas deal with the urge to play a new char, while trying to not lose focus on your main?
Can be a special or a normal. Curious what you all think
