Fighting Game Community
Hi there, I started falling down the rabbit hole of fighting games, and having a great time. I was wondering if there were websites with lists of moves for specific situation: anti-air, anti-pressure, anti-block etc... I am trying a couple games at the same time and I am having a hard time deciding of a main character. The games I am interested in are: - SFV - Tekken 7 - GG strive and Xrd 2nd I don't like the "wikis" moves list because it is not categorized, and I have a hard time to find what I am looking for. I might make such a list myself if none is available, but I need to understand the games better first. Thank you for your time.

Hey FGC Lemmy, there doesn't seem to be a lot going on here, but I would appreciate any input. I'm pretty new to fighting games, and with SF6 and Tekken 8 I want to start playing more competitively. I've been using a Dualshock controller and want to upgrade to a leverless controller before my muscle memory is too engrained. Do y'all have any recommendations for a leverless controller? I play on PS4 rn, but will probably switch over to PC pretty soon. I also don't want to drop $300 on a Razer Kitsune lol. Thanks!
Who else is excited about Under Night In-Birth II Sys: Celes is being released this week?! Hyde was the first fighting game character I ever learned. Full disclosure: I am not good at fighting games, I just love to play them
After I found in Ghostblade a fun character for me I had some great time, but the online is so terrible without any ping indicators or blocking. The game design was criticized plenty, and I also don't see it replacing the big titles for me, perhaps for a local evening with friends it is quite good. Shame the online is so bad though for as an alternative game.
Loved it. The visuals are great, the feel is really there, the Arcade mode was joyful and the Story fight was very epic. I touched Tekken as a series only briefly on PSP and it was not at all my cup of tea and later installments didn't interest me. But this one is a winner so far.
So we will have another purple crazy girl. Fighting game devs know their audience.

Hey everyone, It's this time of the year again. New fighting game came out and noobs like me are asking the questions you've heard a million times before. Humor me, would you? I am new to fighting games, if you discount random button mashing for a while and then uninstalling - but for once I'd like to get better at them. Nearing 50 years of age, my reflexes aren't what they used to be when I was 20, but I still think I could have some fun, especially with the new MK1 just out. I typically play games on a PS5 Dual Sense controller, but very quickly found out that its d-pad does not really work for me. While it was great for quarter and half-circle inputs, stuff like left-right was nearly impossible for me to pull off without hitting up (or down) on the way. I tired an XBOX controller (I think it's the X1), but it was still not quite there. I hate the weight, the size and how clicky it is overall :( A while back I bough (and almost never used) a cheap-o fightstick - Mayflash F300. Left-Right is still kinda tough, but generally I had the best experience with it. The problem is in how damn loud the thing is. Buttons feel a bit loose (rattling?) and the microswitches on the joystick click so loud my neighbors will come knocking if I play too much ;) What I am getting at is - is there any recommended controller/stick you could suggest? I am hoping not to break the bank, but if it's worth it, I'd pay the premium for something that's responsive, comfortable, beginner friendly and not-too-loud. I'd appreciate any help, suggestions, etc. At the moment i am considering maybe playing on mechanical keyboard, but I feel like my fingers would slide off the right buttons in no time...

Announced at EVO, Killer Instinct is getting a new balance pass, improvements to online, and more. (Here's hoping those changes are coming to the PC version as well)
If you own a genuine Primal Rage PCB, you can flash the program and MO roms to update it to the final version of the game that only released in Japan. Changes in this version include some alterations to a few AIs (mostly Sauron and Chaos), and separating out the Start button from the other four attacks; but the biggest changes go to special and finishing move inputs. Specials that previously needed three buttons have come down to just one; inputs that required the Up direction have also been changed, and the 'Eat a Human' move that was unique is now a universal input. What all this means is the game can be played conventionally as opposed to the negative edge specials that it's known for. You can try it out in MAME under primrage.zip, and if you want to do it for real, you'll need an EPROM programmer, an eraser (in case something screws up), some spare chips by Texas Instruments, and a pc.

I've been working on a retro challenge since about April this year of trying to beat Primal Rage (Arcade pcb) at max difficulty without taking damage. I'm nearly there, but for now my best is 13 out of 14 perfect rounds and a few hits during the Final Battle re-fights. On its face, the challenge sounds crazy - but the thing to remember is the game doesn't have some complex AI that learns about you as you play. No. It has a bank of patterns it uses, and straight up just reads your inputs to determine a response. If you know how the AI will respond, you know how to counter. Play for about twelve minutes without dropping a combo, mistiming a jump, or miss a special even once /ever/, and you have yourself a perfect game. Easy, right :p I'm stalled right now until I can upgrade / replace my supergun over the next month-ish, but I hope to complete the challenge by the end of the year.

Hi guys, my name is Pixelologist and I'm a FGC member, fightstick collector, speedrunner, and OSRS pker (lol) I try to be active on both twitch and youtube (I record in 1080p for youtube while I stream at 720 on twitch), but I've been sick. I just wanted to reach out and ask if anyone is interested in doing some collab content like playing games neither of us know on a voice call, or whatever ideas you have. My best idea is once I find someone to collab with, we make a series where we both select friends who have never played a fighting game, act as their coach as we attempt to train them in a week, and then at the end of the week the 2 trainees fight to the death! Maybe with a reward. Anyway I'll stop rambling, just wanted to extend the olive branch to anybody who thinks that sounds cool and has free time on their hands
How are you all liking SF6 so far? I never really got into 5 but I've been playing around with cammy and having a blast learning the game. I still think Strive will remain my main game but it's refreshing to have something different to change the pace up. [Anyway, here's my custom control scheme I made up for SF6. It is CPT legal and quite comfortable](https://i.redd.it/vg8nwto0g97b1.png) L3 and R3 are parry and DI since you need to be able to hit them FAST and my pinkies are weak from RSI damage.
