Is this normal? I repaired a DW745 Table Saw youtu.be

cross-posted from: https://mander.xyz/post/12406051 > I'm not sure where the right place to post this would be, but here goes. > > I bought this DW745 Type 2 saw off of Facebook Marketplace. I think it was abused. I replaced both of the elevating shafts (5140100-04 & 5140100-05). I also had to replace both of the bevel gears (5140061-65). > > The aluminum housing seems to be okay and the lifting shafts move in and out without much resistance. I'm still getting this chunky movement when I raise and lower the blade. > > I'm looking for advice before I go though the whole process of replacing the entire aluminum housing on the motor.

Crafting Elegance: Pale Moon Ebony Bottle Stopper Blanks

**Introduction** Pale moon ebony is a material used in woodworking and manufacturing that combines elegance and durability. This exotic wood, prized for its remarkable beauty and outstanding characteristics, finds its way into a variety of products, from furniture to ornamental items. Pale Moon Ebony shines in the crafting of bottle stoppers, which provide both functionality and aesthetic appeal. **The allure of pale moon ebony:** Pale Moon Ebony, formally known as Diospyros embryopteris, originates predominantly in Southeast Asia. This wood species is distinguished by its rich, dark tones and intriguing grain patterns. Its moniker, "Pale Moon," conjures up images of moonlight evenings, capturing the wood's ethereal beauty and mystery. Ebony's color spectrum varies from deep chocolate browns to intense black, with streaks of golden or reddish-brown tones. Each piece of Pale Moon Ebony is unique, making it a popular option among artisans and craftsmen looking to create one-of-a-kind items. **Craftmanship and Creativity** Making bottle stoppers from Pale Moon Ebony is a delicate art form that demands accuracy and attention to detail. Artisans meticulously pick blanks to ensure they have the proper grain pattern and color uniformity. These blanks, which are normally cylindrical in shape, serve as the basis for the bottle stopper's design. Craftsmen use a lathe to precisely shape the wood, converting it into a practical yet elegant product. To obtain the correct shape, the blank is turned at high speeds, and surplus material is carefully carved away. This hands-on process allows for customization, as artists frequently incorporate unique decorations or accents to customize each item. **A marriage of form and function.** Beyond its aesthetic appeal, Pale Moon Ebony has exceptional physical characteristics that make it suitable for bottle stoppers. Its thick, fine-grained structure adds toughness and stability to the completed product, allowing it to resist the demands of regular use. Furthermore, the wood's inherent oils aid in its resistance to moisture and decay, increasing its lifetime. **In practice, bottle stoppers made of pale moon ebony serve an important purpose:** Maintaining the freshness and taste of wine and spirits. The stopper's firm fit helps to produce an airtight seal, avoiding oxidation and maintaining the beverage's integrity. Pale Moon Ebony bottle stoppers are both functional tools and stunning pieces of art because of their unique combination of form and function. **A Touch of Sophistication:** Pale Moon Ebony bottle stoppers provide a sense of refinement to any event, whether they are used to garnish a favorite bottle of wine or as an exquisite present. Their sleek, simple design and natural beauty transcend the drinking experience, turning a mundane habit into an enjoyable one. Furthermore, the intrinsic individuality of each piece assures that no two bottle stoppers are identical, making them sought-after collector's pieces. Pale Moon Ebony bottle stoppers serve as stunning conversation starters at private gatherings and spectacular festivities, eliciting admiration and fascination. **Conclusion:** In terms of workmanship, Pale Moon Ebony bottle stoppers demonstrate the union of creativity and utility. From its stunning appearance to its functional utility, this exotic wood captivates the senses and enriches the drinking experience. As craftsmen continue to explore its potential, Pale Moon Ebony remains a timeless choice for those looking to add beauty and sophistication to their products. Shelf to hold mugs — made from random scraps

I made this shelf to hold mugs I’ve collected from traveling. The outer case is oak (I think), and shelves are other random scraps. Used a French cleat on the back to hang it.

Walnut quick access vinyl record display shelves https://lemmy.ml/pictrs/image/98dd20c9-e685-4805-b02e-d5fadbf18e8c.mp4

I designed these shelves out of walnut with hidden mounting hardware. They let me quickly lift and tilt out any records for playing as well as fill an empty wall with art. Stained with Danish oil and waxed.

I'll start. Here are some chairs I made recently.

They aren't the best looking but they function and they don't collapse when you sit in them. I call that a win. Show me what you got people.
