Might as well shoot the question here. Thought I'd ask since I ordered it, and I am a little worried with UK customs. The order form said there was nothing in import tax, so I presume customs will keep it until then? (FWIW, I've ordered internationally before but tax has been handled just fine there. This is the first time I've come across this.) Edit 2024-02-23: The plush arrived quite a while ago (early Feb) with no issues regarding customs. Honestly a really good quality plush for the price.
There are currently several applications available for iOS to access Lemmy instances. Each of which has its own benefits and drawbacks. I love Voyager (or wefwef as I still like to call it), but even the installed app is I believe just a repackaged PWA. So I’ve been looking at alternatives that vary from PWA to native Swift implementations. The list I’ve checked out so far are. - Avelon - Bean - Mlem - Memmy - Voyager / vger.app I know Lemma is forthcoming, also. I’m wondering what others current preferences are including values like price, license, governance, and features. It feels to me like the days before Apollo arose where there were many great Reddit apps, but none that stood head and shoulders above the rest. Does anybody feel there is an app shining to that degree yet as Apollo did once it hit the scene?

Christian has decided to squeeze Apollo again for more money, besides the wallpapers and asking people to decline their prorated refund. Christian additionally forced a pop up ad advertising this plushie. This is just exposing to more people the greediness that Christian has tapped into recently. Recall that previously, Christian forced daily pop up ads to **paid** pro users to get them to subscribe to ultra, which was originally stated to only be for notifications since it required a server, but now had all new features attached to it, even very simple local features. Reddit did him dirty, but to be honest, he may have had it coming. He previously disabled ultra access to Jailbroken devices as well, even if they were valid paid users. Christian also didn’t provide refunds to lifetime users who bought it before all the API stuff. Speaking of that, does anyone remember how instead of stating the price was increasing (which happened all the time) he instead said it was “going on sale at the old price”? Kinda misleading.

My single biggest [#UI](https://mastodon.social/tags/UI) wish for [#Ivory](https://mastodon.social/tags/Ivory) [@ivory](https://tapbots.social/@ivory) is to add an option to disable all the cell swipe actions and add a “swipe anywhere to go back” feature. (Similarly to Twitter, the Mastodon official client, Woolly, Mammoth, and many other apps). It would greatly improve single-handed use (with a right hand, that is). Alternatively, a swipe on Tab Bar to go back a la [@apolloapp](https://reddthat.com/c/apolloapp) would be an improvement.

I recently started testing out Bean for Lemmy. Their community is over at !bean@lemmy.world. It’s not quite as feature rich as the others (it’s early in development), but the dev is updating it quickly and I find it to be visually stunning. It’s still on TestFlight, but it’s worth checking out or keeping on the radar!

I think it should just become a wallpaper app. But fully dedicated to apollo icons. Or future icons turned into wallpapers. It's sorta clear he doesnt want to at the moment do anything with the App that’s big work right now. But opening it up as a wallpaper app for creators to take Apollo icons or make their own icons into wallpapers would be amazing. It would keep the app running and a community would be sorta born again.
I see that WefWef says you can export your subscribed subreddits to it, but I don't get the option. Is it too late now, or can you use another service?
I bought the wallpapers, but while I’d like to store them all for later I really don’t want to manually click and download 27+*3 wallpapers (per device) Anyone know of a good quick way to grab them all at once?
I’d been using Apollo since 2018 so it really became my favorite and most used app. I made a ringtone from the “Goodbye Apollo” song in GarageBand. A friend called me while I was in my local Apple Store and I cried with a random stranger when they heard it. Tears were definitely shared and flowing in that moment. Thank you to whoever created this place for us to share our experiences.

This app is actually so close to apollo it feels like apollo never left. The fact it's so stable right now as well is also a plus. Finding alternative Reddit apps was a pain. So my Reddit usage has basically died. This on the other hand will make my usage go up on this platform.
used this app during the ugly alpha Testflight days. Loved it and how responsive Christian was. When Pro came out I bought it and when Ultra came out I got lifetime. Any lifetime members make the jump to Lemmy? Anyone still using Reddit ? What app are you using? I’m on narwhal to check once a day for 5 minutes and I’m done. Had Christian been able to figure out new pricing with the API, how do you think he would’ve handled Lifetime subscriptions? Create a Apollo 2.0 and say lifetime was only for lifetime of 1.0? Offer a legacy pricing / lifetime only perks to lifetime members?
I really hope Christian can address this soon. Now that the settings in app are gone what happened to Chumbus Boop Button?! I’m worried.
For me it’s between Beans or No Space. I also wonder how chumbus is holding up.
Driving to a treatment appointment this morning realizing it’s the first I won’t have Apollo to pass the time with is sad. I’ve been refreshing Apollo every few hours just out of habit and disbelief that it’s actually gone just hoping it will magically come back. GG. RIP Apollo.
